"Gwen" a high pitched voice called out.

I turned my head to find no other than my own missed mum. I instantly rushed over to her and engulfed her in a bone wrecking hug. Small tears were making their way up my eyes as I sniffed her in. She was here, all breathing and living, in my arms.

She ran her hand through my hair and I could tell she was already crying. All of a sudden she pushed me harshly away from her and I stumbled backwards, falling right on the cool concrete. I let out a loud cry of pain as I rubbed my now aching bum, and immodestly diverted my gaze up to be met with a pair of fuming eyes. Pure anger illuminated her brown eyes as she stared down at me. I was flustered.

"Miss Gwen Wilson! Why haven't you cleaned up your room?" She scolded me and before I had time to react, she lifted her right hand to spank me. Hard.

I cupped my cheek with my hands in agony like you'd expect from a toddler who has no idea how to wrestle down such a shocking situation.

Before I knew it the abrupt ire in her honey eyes was replaced with heartbreaking pain and she was no longer standing on her feet.

She was chained to a steel chair. Soft whimpers escaped her lips rapidly as complete fear infiltrated her body and took over. The all too known wizard looking guy sat on a little plastic stool beside her. He gushed in his cloak and to my horror, a huge boning knife was pulled out.

My insides were screaming for me to run over and save her, I couldn't move an inch though. Was completely and utterly paralysed as if my body had been glued to ground. Even tears weren't pouring out of my eyes at that moment, I was completely helpless.

My mum's cries echoed throughout the whole stifling room and suddenly, the walls were starting to close on me. All the blood oozing out of her body making me extremely giddy and nauseous.

My head was spinning as she started throwing accuses at me out of the blue.

"You fucking useless crap, should've put you up for adoption the second you peeked your head out of my belly ."

"Why bother? We could just get an abortion and get this over with."

"Everyone gets what they deserve."

"JESUS CHRIST GWEN."

"Do you love your father more? Why didn't you save me, too?"

"Please girl I have faith in you."

Everything was blurry as multiple subtitles were flashing in front of my eyes, making me as confused as ever as they were literally contradicting each other, what should I believe? I tried to move though the "glue" wouldn't budge.

"You failed, little girl."

Several voices echoed through the silence and it took me exactly two seconds to analyse who's voices were there.

My mum's

My dad's

The wizard's

And my own

***

My eyes batted open and I immediately struggled for oxygen. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as I shifted my body to a sitting position, burying my head in my hands to calm my breath. I felt like there was a bubble in my chest that expanded every second, threatening to break me apart.

That nightmare was different, the other ones had me at least trying to save her. I'd always get myself injured and end up too late to rescue my mum. I didn't quite know what to think of this one though, it was so perplexing. Never had I been paralysed like that before. I was frustratingly helpless.
