Chapter 13 - Getting Ready
“Mom, didn’t the house come with a chef?” I asked her as I walked into her room. I had never looked in it yet, and it was at least 3 times the size of Kae & I’s.
“Yeah, she lives next door, why?” She asked, as she painted her toes.
“Well, it’s a long story, but Liam & Kae broke up, but Harry & I are trying to get them back together! And we need a 5 star meal for tonight!” I said, as she looked up.
“I’m pretty sure she left her number on the fridge. Where’s the dinner gonna be?” She asked, closing the polish.
“We’re gonna set up a table on the beach at sunset. We found some lights in the garage, and we’re gonna set those up in the palm trees, and we’re gonna look around for some candles. It’s gonna be beautiful!” I said, clasping my hands together, day dreaming about the special moment.
“Sounds awesome! Ask the butler to help you carry the food and what not!” She said, getting up off of the ground.
“Thanks, mom!” I yelled, running out, and down 1 flight of stairs (since her room was on the second floor). I ran into the kitchen, where Harry was eating a brownie. “She said that the number is on the fridge!” I walked to the fridge, and found it instantly. I pulled out my phone and dialed the number.
“Hello?” The voice said.
“Hello, Mrs. King? Hi, I’m Sammi. You’re the chef for the mansion, right?”
“Oh! Yes! I am! I was wondering when you guys were going to need me! What can I do for you, Sammi?” She said, her voice gentle and nice.
“Well, tonight, I’m trying to plan a date for two of my friends, and I was wondering if you could make spaghetti and garlic bread?” I asked. Kae’s favorite meal of ALL time was spaghetti and garlic bread. It just so happened that that was Liam’s too.
“Of course! When is the dinner?”
“Tonight, at 7:30!”
“I’ll be over there around 6 ish! Make sure the couple doesn’t go into the kitchen! It’s gonna be a surprise!”
“Oh, thank you SO much!! See you then!” I said, and hanging up. “She said yes!” I said to Harry, who was shoving another brownie in his mouth. He nodded, put his thumb up, and then I started out of the kitchen to go plan an outfit for Kae.
I got to the room, and she was laying there, crying again.
“You can’t cry forever, babydoll. If it’s fate, then you’ll be back together in no time. Now, time to plan out your outfit for tonight!” I went to both of our dressers, and pulled out cute clothes. We were similar sizes, so we could share clothes. I picked out a floral multicolor dress with a sweetheart neckline, and nude color sandals. I planned on lightly curling her hair. I pulled out light eye makeup, and a nude gloss for her lips. I finished the outfit off with a pair of silver pearl earrings and an infinity jeweled necklace.
“Why am I dressing so, I don’t know, nice? It’s just a dinner with you and me?” She said, looking unamused.
“Just do it. I’ll do your hair if you want!” I said, looking excited.
“Fine, I’ll do it. You have the grape soda, right?!” She asked, looking hopeful.
“Well, duh!” I said, rolling my eyes.
“Good! Now get out! I gotta get ready!” She said, pushing me to the door.
“Be ready by 5:30, then I’ll do your hair.” I said, opening the door. I closed it, and then out came Liam.
