he was jealous, but allowed you to stare at him. he secretly hoped you would get caught and the new guy would make fun of you breaking your heart, but he scolded himself for wishing such a selfish thing.
he never wants you to be broken. not as broken as him.
to him, you deserve the world with your heart.
he just watched, painfully, as you tore your eyes from the new guy and smiled at him as if you hadn't just been staring at the new guy.
you made him bite his tongue to hold back the tears.
he had to force himself to laugh and wipe the tears that were stronger than him.
but you didn't notice that he was drowning on the inside trying to make sure you were happy.
