The next day the girls woke up bright and early for warm showers and freshly squeezed juice from the restaurant kitchen. The boys woke up early but neglected to actually get up. Colin and Rick were not due at the surf until as they were simply on patrol but Colin had promised to take Lucy out for a session and Colin had a feeling had asked Mel to come too. Colin moaned again and picked up his phone from the ground and quickly texted Viola to give Mel a warning. Colin rubbed his eyes and saw Drake had fallen to the floor overnight with his phone still in hand.

He had mostly likely been texting Trix all night and fallen asleep in another careless bet to see who stay up the longest. Wonder who won, Colin thought. Rick feet were hanging from under the Doona but he was fast asleep. Austin had been up late too reading but Colin saw him skip many pages and gave up earlier than he thought Austin would have admitted.

Colin have in to the nausea that washed over him and let the darkness close his eyes and for at least a while stop on the on going stress of being a teenage kid.

The girls grabbed a table near the edge of the cafe and grabbed a couple extra seats. Since the girls were employees they couldn't strictly order things like juice and cereal and toast. They had to enter the staff section and pour their own juices and cereals and cook their own toast which was really fine especially as some of them weren't to keen on people touching their food.

"Clara, Katie, Amanda and I will get the juice if you all want?" Mel asked. Her curly pixie cut had grown over the past few days to look like the beginnings of an Afro.

"Ok and we'll get the orders for cereal and toast" Erica agreed but before they could all stand to go a young looking lady in her early thirties approached them. She wore a maroon blouse and tight fitting long black skirt.

"Hello ladies, where are those working class gentlemen?" She smiled looking at them. Looking puzzled the girls made no response but Viola could tell Mel was severely trying.

"Sorry I haven't met you all yet have I ? I'm Sophie Medleth, manager of the resort. I met Rick and Colin the other day but didn't have time to grace you all with my presence."

"Thank you for employing us while we're here, it's a great help to all of us" Mel smiled at Sophie charmingly and everyone chimed in with thank you's.

"Well now I won't do this very often but today I've ordered a healthy serving of pancakes for all of you from the chef, free." Sophie smiled again and waved her hands around to gesture somehow the glorious-ness of it all.

"Thank you and we promise we'll get this hotel amazing today" Erica said as she punched Lucy who looked more hungry then grateful.

"Excellent girls and remover it's a resort" with that she walked off in high heels off to go and talk to the night time receptionist.

"She reminds of a teacher who hasn't found out all the joys of teaching yet" Trix said and grumbled and she smoothed out the wave of hair across her eyes. Mel, Clara, Katie and Amanda went back for the juices and Viola scramble away to steal away so,e crockery. By the time they all had returned the pancakes were sitting where there chairs were steaming with maple syrup.

At that moment too Viola turned round to see sleepy boys who hadn't had their coffee yet approaching.

"Hey mel, ant to come for a surf later? Rick called out to Mel. She turned around and grinned. Lucy gave Colin a sour look. Colin gave Viola an even sourer look. She returned it with an "excuse me eating pancakes so I don't know" sort of look. Colin walked over to V and said
" the text message did you get it?"

" I haven't turned my phone on today" viola replied not once stopping herself from eating the pancakes that Lucy had now devoured all of hers and had started grabbing some of Erica's as she went to look for Zac.

"Right well o don't trust her with Rick anyway but Aylesbury Lucy and I can check it out." Colin grabbed a grape from the girls table enter fruit bowl.

"Coffee, guys I need coffee" Drake moaned and Austin pushed him over to a table beside the girls.

"Ha told you I'd win!" Trix called across the table.

"You tricked me into telling you boring stories" Drake protested while sipping large amount of coffee from a extra large mug.

"Whatever way you see it, you owe me twenty bucks" Trix laughed and sipped some of her "own coffee.

Erica returned to the table with Zac. Today Zac wore a black shirt and beige shorts. Erica was about to say something to him until she saw the vacant stack of pancakes on her plate. Lucy had eaten them all but one half.

"They do make good pancakes here, Erica. Should try some " he swiped the last piece of pancake from her plate and made his way over to the register.
