Luke's Perspective
"Happy fourth birthday, Baby Boy." I say.
Ashton follows with, "Happy birthday, Honey."
"Thanks, Daddy and Daddy Ashy."
Ashton smiles. Gay marriage was legal, and so was our marriage. We had been married for seven months. I worked and Ashton was a stay at home dad. We'd been thinking about adopting for a while, and we were on hold for a baby girl, Gabriella She had been born in Mexico a couple weeks ago, but they were still running tests to make sure she was healthy.
"Daddies, when will Sissy Gabi be here?"
"Well, Jake, She was supposed to be here yesterday."
Knock, knock! "Anybody home?"
"Coming!" I tell, running to the door. Jacob and Ashton follow close behind me.
When I open the door, a woman is standing, car seat in hand. "Names?"
"Of the while household?"
The woman nods.
"Luke, Ashton and Jacob Hemmings."
"Oh, okay. My name is Nantalia. Im going to be your social worker." She puts her hand out.
I shake it. "Hello, Natalia. I'm Luke. Are you here about our little angel?"
"Yes, actually. But you have to full out a couple forms before she's yours. It should only take about a half an hour, since you've already filled out the other forms."
"Oh, thank you."
---
"Best birthday ever!" Jacob screams.
"Shh! Jacob, be quiet. Gabriella is sleeping in her pretty pink crib."
"But that's in my old room, Daddy. She's stealing all of my stuff."
"Jacob, I'm sorry. But your getting bigger. You've outgrown most of your stuff, including your old Nirvana onsie. You just have to be a good girl."
"I'm not a girl!"
"Huh?" I say. Gabriella starts screaming. I pick her up and calm her down. "Just go away for a little while."

Jacob's Perspective
She's taking all my stuff, and Daddy doesn't even want me around anymore. He just keeps saying, "Go away for a little while, Jacob."
He only pays attention to Gabi, and I just wanna cry. As I start to cry, I crawl under my bed. Why does everyone hate me?
Everyone hates me. Its obvious.
