Ashton Irwin's POV
Halloween Special

"

Ash?" Luke asks, rocking Gabriella in his arms. He's been getting better with the kids, being easier on Jake.

"Huh?" I ask at the kitchen, making Jacob's lunch after his half day.

"Next Monday Mike wants to gay back together for a couple days for the band reunion. What do you say? He says it'll be at his house, and the kids can come."

"I'll have to think about it. It's Gabi's first haloween tomorrow, Jacob wants to go trick or treating, and you have to work. You spent your vacation days when Gabi was just a couple minutes with us. You took your personal leave of absence and sick days for her, too. You just have to wait until Sunday night, call your boss, and then we can talk about it. I know George isn't that leaniant."

"Have I ever told you you talk too much?"

"Shut it."

"I- hey!"

"Daddy Ashy, is it Haloween yet?"

"Tomorrow, Honey."

"But I wanna be my werewolf cost-tooms."

I smile. "Less than twenty hours."

"How many?"

"Here. Take your ham sandwich and go eat. I'll put Miles From Tomorrowland on in a minute. I gotta make Gabriella's cereal."

"When did she start eating cereal? What's her favorite kind? I like Lucky Charms."

"I meant baby cereal. She can't have real cereal. It's too hard for her."

"Oh. Okay, Daddy Ashy."

I smile again and take out the baby cereal from the cabinet over top of the stove."Go eat. I'll be in in a minute."

When I turn on the TV, the first thing I hear is, "Shut the hell up!"

I quickly change the channel, avoiding letting Jake see the TV.

"Daddy!" He begs. "Lemme watch TV."

"Wait a freaking minute."

---

"Trick or Treat!" Jacob says, holding out his bucket.

"Happy Haloween, young man." an old lady says, cane in hand.

"Where's the candy?"

"Not here. You don't get candy here."

"Well where's my candy? What do I get here?"

"Well candy isn't allowed at my house. Here you get an apple." She drops an apple in his vampire basket.

"What about sissy?" Jacob points to the stroller.

"She's a baby. She can't have an apple."

"So give her chocolate."

"But chocolate is candy."

"So where's my candy? Give us candy."

"Jacob. You don't get candy. Move on."

"No."

"Yes. Now. Come on."

"Why?"

"Because. Now keep going."

"But, Daddy. I don't want to."

"Too bad. Go on."
