"Where would I be without my baby? The thought alone might break me. And I don't want to go crazy"

- JaRule

---------------------

Dawn walked into the tattoo shop to see people moving around as if the world was about to end. One of the artist walked up to Dawn and mugged her.

"Please tell me you got everything. I swear if you don't I'm gone take my nipple piercing gun and hurt you and your crazy man."

Dawn cleared her throat trying not to laugh. "Relax Tara dang. Is he really that bad." Tara rolled her eyes and went back to her booth making sure it was set up. Dawn assumed he was from her reaction.

"Man so you mean to tell me people gone think we serious with nothing to show?" Anthony was snapping on another artist about him not having his portfolio. Dawn walked up to him and reached for his arm. Anthony grabbed her wrist and stopped talking to the man and looked at her.

"Baby I got a suprise-"

"Look I'm glad you showed up but I don't have time for your bull shit right now. This may not be important to you but it is to me."

"Why wouldn't it be important to me and what are you talking about." Dawn pulled her arm back because his grip got tighter.

"If it wasn't for your ass I wouldn't be running around her trying to fix shit. Distracting me and shit with all of this bull." Anthony snapped more causing everyone to look. "I got bigger shit to deal with then you right now."

Dawn got into his face pissed. "You're not about to disrespect me in front of a bunch of people. Matter fact you not gone disrespect me period. I don't know what crawled up your ass but you better push it out before I put my foot up there next." His jaw tightened indicating he was mad. Dawn rolled her eyes as Anthony walked to his office and slammed the door shut.

"You good lil bit?" Christian asked.

"Peachy." She sighed.

"You need-"

"What part of I'm fucking peachy don't any of you understand. I'm fine okay." Dawn voiced cracked. She was no where near fine. Dawn understood what he had on his plate and that is the reason she's been trying to distract him lately. His words pissed her off but more so hurt her.

Dawn was simply trying to help and didn't understand why he could not see that or allow her to. She gave Marcel her car keys and went into the bathroom to compose herself.

--

"What do you mean by you can't find my keys? How the hell you lose them?" Anthony snapped. He couldn't get into his club earlier and called his contractor to see what was wrong. He's been on the phone for fifteen minutes and they came back telling him they lost them.

"Sir I don't know. I'm not the one who did the job. I will call my boss and get back to you."

"Nah fuck that." The call dropped pissing him off more. A knock was at his office door and he sighed opening the door.

"We good to go man."

"How when shit not done. Why the hell everyone just chilling?" Anthony snapped. Everyone was sitting on their behind, talking among each other.

Each tattoo station was set up based to the artist preferences. Anthony calmed down and looked around to see what was different. He walked up to the front counter and seen the portfolio books lined up neatly across the counter.

Opening them he seen all of the artwork and images placed perfectly on each page. Everyone became silent and allowed for him to take his time. Dawn walked back in her eyes were puffy and nose red from crying and being sick.

Anthony looked up and instantly was astonished. The wall by the front entrance had black wall frames that had more work in them. It gave the shop a more professional appearance and he was impressed.

"Who did all of this?" He asked but no one answered right away. They didn't know if he was content or about to go off again.

"You still feel hot?" Moniece asked Dawn and felt her forhead.

"No. I'm fine." Dawn lied. It was almost time for opening and people were waiting outside. Anthony chose the perfect spot for his club and shop being that the street was constantly busy.

"You been running around doing stuff for weeks now Dawn. Maybe you just need a break." Moniece referred to the club.

"Hmph. You right. Can't keep worrying about others. Need to focus on myself." Dawn mumbled.

"Dawn got all of this together for you man." Christian told Anthony. Anthony instantly felt like shit for what came out of his mouth earlier. He watched as Moniece and Dawn talked to each other.

Dawn stood up and went to the bathroom again and Anthony took that as an opportunity to talk to her. He knocked on the door and waited. When no one answered he knocked again.

"One second." Dawn called out. A minute later she opened the door and went to move around Anthony but he stopped her.

"Can we talk?"

"No you might yell at me for that."

"Look I'm just stressed out. I got a lot going on and-"

"I don't care. That doesn't give you a reason to treat me like shit and take your anger out on me. Since day one I have simply done nothing but support and try to help you. You wouldn't have to be going through everything alone if you just talk to me." Dawn snapped. Her voice started to crack from her cold.

"You right but-"

"Just stop Anthony. This is your night so please enjoy it. I apologize for being a burden. Don't worry I'll just give you some space." Dawn walked off.

He rubbed his hands down his face from frustration. Dawn distracting him lately was not because she didn't care about his needs and wants but because she did care. He felt stupid after realizing why lately she was acting carefree and wanted him to do the same.

"You fucked up." Christian told Anthony. He simply nodded and watched Dawn socialize with everyone.

--

Anthony walked into a quiet apartment. It was two in the morning and he was exhausted.  Dawn was in the living room watching tv.

He walked in and sat beside her noticing that she had been crying. Dawn got up immediately and Anthony sighed.

She walked off and returned throwing a set of keys at him. "You're welcome in advance."

"What's this?" Anthony asked confused.

"Keys to the club." She dryly stated and sat back down returning her attention to a movie.

"Why do you have keys to my shit?"

"Well your "shit" is completely finished as of last week. I had it all ready as a surprise for your birthday but I don't have time to be snapped on anymore. I don't think the contractors want to be harassed either." She sighed not looking at him.

Anthony played with the keys in his hand. "Look I tried to appologize. I didnt't mean the shit I said earlier. Taking my anger out on you was wrong and I can't promise you I won't do it again but I will at least try."

"Mhm." Dawn hummed unbothered by his appology.

"What I got to do to make it up to you? Ill do anything?" Anthony pleaded. He needed Dawn more than he acted. To lose her would just make things worse for him.

"Get a therapist because clearly I can't help you." Dawn mumbled and laid her head on his lap.

Anthony rubbed circles down her back. He laid his head back on the couch. Closing his eyes he tried to remove the negative thoughts that haunted him.
