"When you love someone, you just don't treat them bad."

Dawn

"Where are you going this late?" My mother caught me as I was heading out of the door.

"To my apartment. I need to grab my sketch book. I can't sleep." I sighed.

"I'm going to act like that's the only reason why you're going there."

"Mama can you not." I knew what she was insinuating which was correct.

"Dawn its okay. You have not seen Anthony or really talked to him in over two months."

"I feel foolish. I should've just let him talk but I was so angry and hurt. You think he actually moved out?"

Anthony had texted me earlier and said he was gone but I didn't want to go home to emptiness. Although I constantly would text him and ask if he had moved out yet so I could go home, it wasn't what I truly wanted.

"I'm not sure. I guess you will have to find out for yourself." She kissed my forehead as I left.

After sitting in the car for over fifteen minutes I gained the strength to drive home. I really was going to get my sketch book but I also wanted to see if he actually moved out.

I didn't see Anthony's car when I pulled into the parking lot but that didn't mean he was actually gone. I got out and made my way into the elevator to brace myself for the worse.

Walking in it was completely silent. I cut the lights on and took off my coat before heading to the guest room. I slowly opened it and seen that all of Anthony's belongings were indeed gone.

Turning around I stormed to my art room and looked for my sketch book so I can quickly leave. When I couldn't find it I started to search the entire apartment.

"Looking for this?" I jumped when I heard his voice. "I didn't mean to startle you. I forgot that I had it and wanted to bring it back."

"Why would you have it?" I turned around to face him. He looked entirely different to me in a way. It could just be my hormones right now but something was different.

"From time to time I would admire your work to think straight." He handed it to me and smiled.

"Thank you. How are you?"

"I'm good. Can we talk?" I wanted badly to say no because of the fear of what he wanted to talk about but I simply nodded. I sat down in the living room and tucked my legs under me. "You look horrible." He laughed but I didn't find it funny.

"Well thank you."

"How's everything? Your health and the baby?" He looked down at my now small pudge. I was growing fast although I could hardly keep anything down.

I shrugged. "She seems to be just fine although I can barely keep anything down still."

"He."

"What?"

"You're having a boy." Anthony pulled on his chin hair and then returned his attention to me.

I lightly laughed. "It's going to be a girl. I don't know why everyone thinks it's a boy."

"I don't think. I know. Can I?" I sat up and lifted my shirt. Anthony eyes lit up once he placed his hands on my stomach. I have no clue what had come over me but I started to cry instantly.
