"And its just totally crazy and amazing that that's the way your brain reacts to that type of stuff, like, oh my god how do I even begin to really emphasis how amazing it is?"
"How do you begin to stop instead?" Melody asked in the most affectionate way possible. Because at the moment Harry was telling her about this new study scientists found and his psychology class was going over.
"Oh please, Melody, you know this stuff is amazing." And who was she to disagree. The man wasn't wrong and he also looked so cute talking about psychology. He got so into it and magically talked fast, or at least faster than he usually does. He would also begin to use a lot of hand motions, he just got so excited and it was so adorable. Melody couldn't help but just smile. So really it was okay that psychology wasn't her forte, because it was Harry's.
But as Melody really took in what he said instead of just staring at him like a lovesick puppy. "Wait so you mean to tell me that my fear could have possibly been passed through past generations?"
"Yes, exactly, isn't that crazy?"
"Whoever passed it down to me I'm going to have a serious talk with."
"No you won't." Melody furrowed her eyebrows to that and after probably two seconds too long, Harry noticed. "They're most likely dead already so it seems rather pointless." Melody just smiled again.
Melody had been smiling a lot lately, and it wasn't as forced anymore. She's just been a lot more happy lately and she very well knew why, because of the boy sitting across from her. It was pretty foreign for her to feel so happy. And it was really odd the way it was affecting her, it was kind of like when you walk into a room and push open the curtains. It was kind of like she was seeing the world without curtains making it all dark, instead letting the sun warm her up.
Suddenly missing him, even though he was only sitting across the couch from her and her feet were on his lap, she made the way across the distance between them and cuddled into his side. He very gladly accepted the embrace and wrapped his arms around her, and he felt so happy and warm he could sleep right there right now.
Light from the moon spilled through the window Melody was now facing. Looking at it was so different. Just two months the moon was the only thing that spent the night with her and comforted her. But looking back at it now, it wasn't comfort. Yes, the moon did cover her in a blanket but the blanket was very cold and thin and lonely. Nothing about it was really comforting besides that it was there.
But now, now it was different. She would look at it and it would try to put its cold blanket over her but she couldn't feel it, not anymore. Now she had a real blanket covering her ,it was big and warm and she could just cocoon herself up in it. Kind of like a comforter.
Now the moon was just the moon.
And Harry was more than just Harry.
Melody felt like a new Melody, and she felt so happy she snuggled a little closer to Harry and he tightened his grip on her just a little more. But it was totally and completely enough to just melt into his grasp, but she didn't, because she already had long ago.
"Thank you." Melody whispered so quietly, still making sure it was loud enough for him to hear because those words were meant for him.
"Why are you thanking me?" Harry asked as Melody held one of his hands in both of hers because it was Harry's hand and Harry was Harry and everything was just so... amazing.
"I don't know," Melody shrugged. "you just helped me so much throughout the past couple of months and you just make me really happy." Melody couldn't see it because she was trying to steal the warmth from his hands and trying to transfer it to hers, but he was smiling a lot.
Harry hugged her a little closer to him. Always closer and closer but never close enough.
"You've done the same for me." He replied, planting a small kiss on the top of her head. Melody felt her whole body warm up from the gesture, from her toes to her cheeks. And she smiled with pure happiness running all through her.
