A crowd of Moonlight wolves rush to the castle entrance to see what the commotion was about. "The Prince, where is he?" One of the villagers asks. Marcai overlooks the crowd and starts to speak, "He is here in the castle however, you will have to wait for his appearance" He pauses then continues "He will be out shortly." The villagers stare back in confusion and then return to their daily activities. Marcai returns back into the castle and looks up at his mate and son, "Well they didn't take it so lightly" He says with worry. Mordecai could hear an uneasy shift in his father's tone when he spoke those words. "Hey, I'll show myself to them to prove there is no false sight, okay" Mordecai reassures his father. Marcai and Moona exchange looks and Marcai sighs with relief "I see there is no way to convince them otherwise so...go for." Mordecai nods with a smile and signals Dust to follow him out of the palace to face the villagers.
Mordecai steps out of the castle and stands there in shock by the eyes of many staring in his direction. Did they think he was the one? Mordecai clears his throat and begins to speak nervously "Um...hello wolves of the Moonlight Kingdom...I have traveled many days to reach this kingdom to say...I have returned." The gray Moonlight wolf that Dust had spoken to, steps out of the crowd and faces him. He then bows down in front of Mordecai and the others follow the wolf's actions. "Wow that was kind of easy" Dust whispers to Mordecai in surprise. "Yeah I know, but I have to really prove myself" the Moonlight wolf whispers in reply. The villagers rise up and stare at Mordecai as if to await a command. This was getting stranger by the second for Mordecai. He takes and deep breath then continues, "I have returned! Does anyone have questions about Moon-Birth wolves by any chance?" He asks, overlooking the crowd.

"What?" a random villager pup, shouts from the crowd.

The Prince felt his face grow hot in embarrassment. "Sorry about that" He apologizes out loud.
He faces a black Moonlight wolf. They nervously begin to bow. "Hey, you don't have to go and do that, okay" Mordecai tells them. The black Moonlight wolf stops and stands up. "What's your name?" Mordecai asks them. The Moonlight wolf villager nods then answers "Zalford, Zal for short" Wow, that's a fancy name!
"Well, Zal. I promise you and everyone else here that I will protect you" Mordecai assures him.  "A dark wolf by the name of Shadoweye, has terrorized everyone. Once I'm through with him, he will be no more. I will make sure to use all my strength and knock him back into his senses...or at least try to" Mordecai stops and looks up at the crowd that suddenly started to increase. He continues "He is like us and he always will be because there are no evil kin or ancestors in this world, there is only an evil power that controls the mind and heart." I guess that might be right...oh I don't know! The Moonlight wolf wasn't sure if his words were true but, he knew he could make them true.
Mordecai finishes with uncertainty to his speech and gazes down at the crowd. He sees the faces of surprise and amazement. He felt deep down inside that the story about his father and the other wolf, Shade, had something to do with an unexplained dark power roaming the kingdom. The crowd of villagers, cheer in delight and Zal approaches Mordecai. "Um...well...you asked what my name was so what is your title prince?" He asks. Mordecai sits down and places his paw on his chest, "Mordecai, you can call me Mordecai" he replies. Zal nods and happily runs back to the other villagers. Dust sighs in relief and faces Mordecai, "I think we should return to the castle to see how your parents are doing." Mordecai nods in agreement and they make their way back to the palace.
Mordecai makes his way to the throne room and sees his parents. Marcai is standing there with a goofy smile and Moona shakes her with amusement. "Uh...dad, are you okay?" Mordecai asks with confusion on his face. Marcai laughs "I'm just impressed and proud of your little speak you gave to the villagers, that's all." Mordecai smiles and puffs his chest out, "Yes, it is I, Mordecai the great and mighty speech giver! Here to give you a lesson of life!" They all laugh and Dust rolls his eyes. "Hey, uh, don't you guys have something to do later or something?" He asks with annoyance. Marcai stands there puzzled for a second then gasps "Great flying scrolls! I almost forgot!" Mordecai and Dust look at each other in amusement. Moona sighs "Your father is supposed to take you to the Moonlit Forest to do something" she says sighing once more. "If I was a human, my hands would be on my hips right about now." Dust snorts and rolls off Mordecai's back, cracking up, "Your mom knows how to explain her thoughts!" Mordecai shakes his head in embarrassment, "Well I guess I got the crazy and smart genes in the family." Marcai rushes to the doors then turns back to Mordecai shouting "Come quickly we must get to the forest!" Mordecai runs to his father and they proceed to the Moonlit Forest.
When they get there, Mordecai looks at the forest in amazement. The forest had the same vide as the village. There were purple and blue flowers and dark shades of green leafed trees. He follows his father to an unusual purple looking tree. The tree was different than the others and it looked droopy and depressing. "What kind of tree is that? Mordecai asks, inspecting the limp looking tree. "It's a Weeping Willow. When your mother and I found it; we were amazed by its figure and beauty." Marcai walks towards the tree then slams his paws on to it. Mordecai stands there in shock What did it ever do to him? Suddenly a scroll flies out of the tree and rolls on the ground, ending up at Mordecai's feet. "Is that a transformation scroll?" He asks. "Nope, do you know that sword on your back?" His father asks, looking at EclispeMoon. Mordecai glances at his sword, "Yeah...why? Is it cursed or something?" The Moonlight Prince asks in concern. Marcai shakes his head, "No, of course not!" He replies in shock. "That sword was...well is the ancient blade of this kingdom. How did you get?" Mordecai pauses for a moment then answers, "I got it back at Wolgon City. A blacksmith had it." The Moonlight King turns around and sighs, "Your un- er...Shadoweye somehow got the sword. We thought it would be gone forever and put into bad paws, but looks like it has a worthy owner now." He then handed the scroll to Mordecai. Mordecai opens the scroll up begins to read:

The scarce blade of the Moonlight Kingdom; made of strong and rare black steel. This blade carries the raw power of Moonshine and is attached to a long silver chain. Many spinning sword techniques can be achieved with this blade. When the time comes a mighty solider or descendant can wield and master this blade.

King Moon

Mordecai then closes his eyes. That was the craziest thing he had ever read! That blade held so much more surprises then he thought. What on earth was Moonshine? Mordecai didn't really care at the moment because that was a topic of conversation for later. He looks at his father and smiles. Marcai smiles back "Let's get back to the palace. We have a shadow wolf and Broken Core to face."
