Akashi's POV
While sitting in the living room a thought occurred to me. Why not give all the staff the day off? I certainly didn't want them seeing the face (Y/N) made earlier. I want to keep it for myself.
So I went and took out my phone to call my butler.
"Yes Akashi-sama?" I hear Tanaka's voice.
"Tell the staff here that they all have the day off." I order.
"H-Hai. As you wish young master." He rambles. I smirk at the older man's obvious surprise at my request.
"Good." I say then hang up before I hear the other man's farewell. I smile to myself. I have (Y/N) all to myself for the rest of the day.
At that thought I start to hear someone's angelical singing coming from the kitchen.
'(Y/N)?'
Reader's POV
Without realizing it I had started singing while I cooked. I didn't know what came over me because I haven't sung in a very long time. But once I started I couldn't stop because it felt amazing. I've always loved singing, but quit after that day.
I was in the middle of singing one of my favorite songs when I heard someone approach me from behind. I was too occupied with frying the bacon that I didn't look. Instead I just stopped my singing.
"Don't stop." I hear Akashi's voice whisper right behind me. I had to stop myself from flinching, one at the closeness, and two the embarrassing fact that he had been listening.
"But I'm done with the song." I lie, not wanting to continue with someone watching. I busy myself with cooking the bacon for our lunch, which is BLTs. Seeing that they were done I turn off the burner and put the bacon on the plate I had prepared earlier.
I turn to get the lettuce and tomato out of the fridge but am stopped short by the short red head in front of me. "What?" I ask when he made no indication of moving.
"I told you to not stop singing." He says in a deep, husky voice.
"But I was done." I lie once again avoiding his gaze.
"So? You could have sung a different song." He pauses. "And I like your singing." He says in a quieter voice hiding his face under his bangs. [A/N: Ya forgot to mention that this is after the winter cups so he grew his hair back to its previous length. Yay!]
"Eh?" I look at him shocked.
'Did he just praise my singing? Like? He likes it?'
I start to blush with the sudden attention and look away from Akashi.
We both stood there like a couple of idiots for what felt like hours before I decide to break the silence. "U-Um I need to get the lettuce and tomato from the fridge." I point behind him.
"Oh s-sorry." He turns around and walks over to the fridge and opens it. He grabs the items I listed and puts them on the counter, or island rather, between us.
Snapping out of my trance of watching him, I move to grab a knife. Finding the perfect one for slicing the tomato, I walk over to the counter. Akashi eyed me warily. I'm guessing because of the knife I was holding. That made me grin demonically.
"What? Don't trust me with a knife?" I ask, pointing the knife at him.
"N-No." He puts his hands up in surrender.
"Whatever." I shrug then turn to the task at hand. Slicing tomatoes.
As I sliced the tomatoes, Akashi seemed to just stand there watching me. It was both embarrassing and nerve wrecking at the same time.
