Last chapter's recap: With all the help, this place would be haunted house worthy in no time and I could give Kurloz the best Halloween surprise ever.

-----------------------

Everyone had arrived and was now trying to help out with something; Sollux and Mituna were working on the speakers, Nepeta was carving lots of spoopy jack-o-lanterns, Kanaya was taking measurements of the windows for spooky curtains, Mikado was pining up creepy stickers and streamers, Equius and Cronus were moving all the outdoor decorations on the front lawn, and Kurloz and I were decorating our doors with caution tape. Kurloz and I took a step back to admire our work.

"I think we all up and did motherfucking good, sis." Kurloz smirked wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I nodded in agreement.

"Now we just gotta get the door downstairs." I added. Kurloz grabbed the 'Do Not Cross' tape and picked me then carefully made his way downstairs.

"Yo, A, I found skeletons in the closet and Zahak found a fog machine in the attic." Mikado shouted.

"One skeleton stays inside, the rest of the bone daddies and the fog machine go outside." I stated still wrapping tape around the door.

"Oh, bae, I know where the indoor fog machine is." Kurloz added finishing off the rest of the door.

"Hold up, wait. Woah. Woah." Mikado interjected stepping closer. "Did you just call her 'bae'?" she asked raising an eyebrow. I bit the inside of my lip and tried my hardest not to blush.

"Mikado, you're fucking deaf. I said 'oh, hey' not 'oh, bae'. You're losing your hearing and your motherfucking mind." Kurloz stated without once losing his composure. I let out a sigh of relief and released my lip. Mikado turned to me.

"I feel like you're not telling me something, but I'm gonna let it go... for now at least." And with that she went back to what she was doing.

A couple hours later everyone was sat in the front room eating pizza and watching Psycho. I leaned against Kurloz, who, in turn, grabbed my face like the weirdo he is. I grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand off my face and started playing with his fingers, it was then that I noticed a faded scar across his wrist.

"What happened here?" I signed to him so no one else would hear.

"Gamzee was having a moment and when I tried to get him to chill he tried to claw my hands off." He signed back.

"How come none of us noticed?" I questioned.

"I covered the bandages with cuff bracelets." He shrugged. I held his hand in mine then brought his wrist to my lips and placed a gentle kiss on the faded scars. Kurloz's face flushed and he scratched the back of his neck; he pulled me onto his lap and stretched out on the couch. I nuzzled my face into his chest and he held onto my waist with his finger laced through my belt loops. He's so warm. I thought to myself as I tried my hardest not to fall asleep and focus on the movie.

"Um, what was the rule back in the day? Another person should be able to get between y'all? Can't even air make its way past through the nonexistent gap between y'all." Mikado smirked.

"Fuck off, Daiyu, you were practically sucking Tuna's face off during the entire movie." Kurloz hissed. He sat up and instead of me letting go like a normal person I clung to him even tighter.

"You ok, doll?" Cronus asked.

"Kurloz is warm." My words were muffled since my face was still implanted in his hoodie, but I knew they understood me. We spent the rest of the day finishing up with decorations and trying to pry me off of Kurloz.

The next day was spent with me trying to come up with ideas for my Halloween costume; I know it was last minute but everything else had pretty much taken up all my time. Earlier today I had already started on all the finger foods that refrigerated and made my special "Vampire's Blood" punch. I was currently in my room staring out all this year's options. I don't have enough time to do Soul. I was Sally last year so it'd be tacky to be Jack this year. Day of the dead skull is easy, but kinda lazy on my part. Oh, I could be Spidergirl! No, I'm pretty sure I'd just end up with a bodysuit that leaves nothing to the imagination. I kept going through the pile until I found something that stuck out.

"When's the last time I wore this stripy rainbow shirt?" I thought aloud. I tossed it onto my shoulder and kept digging until I found what I was looking for.

"I knew I had an overall dress!" I shouted in excitement. If I can find my red paint maker I just might be able to pull off a feminine version of Chucky. I found some red knee socks and tried everything on to make sure it still fit. The dress stuck to my frame a little, but it still fit perfectly. I slid the dress off and searched my art stuff for a paint marker; once I found it I wrote "Good Guys" on it with bright red letters using a Google image as a guide. I hung the dress up and gave the lettering time to dry; I figured I'd just spray dye my hair red tomorrow since there was too much of it to put into a wig. Since I was already looking up Chucky related stuff I decided to watch a tutorial on the "Broken Doll" look and modify it to match my costume.

By the time the video finished playing, I had already mastered the technique. Not long after I got a text from Gamzee.

TC: Yo SiS mE AnD kArBrO bOtH wAnNa Be A VaMpIrE dUdE... wHaT sHoUlD wE aLl Up AnD dO?

Me: well if neither of you wants to change then pick a specific vampire instead of a generic one

TC: WhAt?

Me: like Edward Cullen, Barnabas Collins, Marshall Lee, Dracula, etc.

TC: Oh tHaNkS sIs

Me: no problem, just remember not to tell Loz, it's a surprise

TC: gOt It ThAnKs MaMa ;0)

I rolled my eyes playfully then called Mikado; she picked up on the third ring.

" Sup, babe?" she questioned playfully.

"Honey bunch, I need you to bring me four cans of red temporary spray dye." I pleaded.

"Ooh, what sexy character are you gonna be this year?" she giggled.

"Two words, babe. Good. Guys." I smirked.

"What? You mean like a super hero?" she was genuinely confused.

"No, the good guy Chucky doll." I pouted.

"Oh, why didn't you just say so?" she shouted.

I winced. "Anyway, can you bring me the hair dye?" I asked again.

"Sure, plus I kinda need your help with something. I'll be over in 10." She enthused before hanging up.

The house was set, the food was gonna be killer, and my costume kicked ass- This Halloween was gonna be epic.
