Missing- My 2014 Halloween story

Chapter 7

Zane

I stared into the fire, deep in thought. in a matter of minutes, I created a story:

The little girl walk into the forest at night, holding a flashlight in her little hands. Rumors say that children disappeared after they entered the forest. But she doesn't believe it. As the little path faded behind her, she hold on to her only light source and go on. The full moon is shining brighter than usual tonight, clouds slowly drifted in, making the sky darker. She stopped when she stepped on a stick. Startled, she willed herself to calm down. "It's just a stick." she said loudly, laughing quietly to herself. The owl that stood on the tree obove her is hooting, its white feathers glowing under the moonlight. She scowled when the flashlight began to die down. Her only light source is gone. She kind of regret coming here now. Alone. Her eyes gleamed when she spotting a faint light up ahead, among the trees. Without a second thought, she ran toward the light. But it seems that the closer she got, the farther away is the light.

Finally, a little wooden house appeared, lit up by the light she saw before. Quickly, she reached for the door, but hesitanted before doing it. With a crack, the door opened, and she walked in. The house is lit up by the candle set in the center of the table. She was just slowly approaching the table when she heard the sound of footsteps. "W-who's there?" she took the candle and look around. At the same time, a wind blew in and the candle died down. She gulped and drop the remain of the candle down to the floor. The footsteps are coming at her. She wanted to run, but she can't. Her feet are glued to the floor. The footsteps stopped. Shaking, she gasped for air. Suddenly, someone put their hand on her shoulder. She screamed and tried to take the hand off. The hand is made of bones.....living bones. Then she realized with dread, her end has come....
