Connor

I looked down into her blue green eyes, relieved to find them back to normal. I let a breath, that I didn't even realize I was holding. The whole way here, all I could see in my mind was her collapsing, her eyes glowing gold. It was terrifying.

I leaned down and kissed her forehead, realizing that she might not make it out of this.

We still couldn't fully explain how she had just collapsed like that. Normally eidolons took a host body, and completely took over - unless it was a dying eidolon.

The thought struck so suddenly it shook me. "No." I whispered to myself. There was no way an eidolon could die, was there? They were basically ghosts, weren't they?

"Percy." I hissed. Hoping he would rush to the bed. He did.

"What Connor? Everything okay?!" He was frantic. Poor guy.

"I'm not sure, I might have just figured out why the eidolon made Ashton so weak." I said grimly.

"Well that's obvious. Jason, Leo, and I all collapsed after the eidolons were cast from our body - but we're find now. Just like Ashton's going to be fine." The poor guy was obviously trying to convince himself, but I brushed it off.

"But you also didn't collapse while the eidolon was active. I think... I think the eidolon was dying." I looked up, hoping to catch Percy's facial reaction.

He was stunned. "But... How? Aren't they like some sort of ghost?"

"I think so. But they were Gaea's minions. So what if once we destroyed Gaea, it's slowly killing them off one by one, and sending them to Tartarus?" It was all starting to make sense.

"And whoever's bodies they host in when they die - goes to Tartarus too. It all makes sense." Percy heaved a sigh of relief, and then he collapsed on the closest bed, falling asleep.

_________NEXT DAY__________

I had stayed with Ashton for the rest of the night, holding her hand, hoping that she would wake up. But she didn't. It wasn't until later that afternoon that she finally came to, fighting tooth and nail for them to let her out of the infirmary, and let her jump in the lake.

"C'mon Ash! You just can't go right now. You gotta stay here." I grinned, glad to have my Ashton back and kicking, even if the kicking was literal.

"But the water will help me I swear! It's a Poseidon thing!" She pouted.

"You seem to use that excuse a lot." I laughed, and playfully punched her arm. She winced. "Ash I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!"

She grinned. "Gotcha!" She grabbed my neck, and pulled me in for a kiss, we were pulling apart when Percy walked in. Great.

"Stoll. Outside. Now." He was mad.

"Perce! You said you would try!" Ashton called after us as Percy grabbed my arm and practically dragged me outside. As soon as we were out there he punched me square in the jaw.

"Ow! What was that for Jackson?!" I yelped.

"For getting too close to my sister. You guys are practically dating without a word to any of us." His glare was sharp.

"Yeah, 'cause you fill us in on every detail of your dates with Annabeth. C'mon man! Back off." He punched me again. This time in the stomach.

I glared at him, punched his nose, and walked back into the infirmary. Ticked off, and trying to figure out how to get back at Jackson.
