Ashton's POV

Had Connor Stoll just had enough nerve to flirt with me? Nah, there's no way.

Oh but that was most definitely flirting.

(Connor's POV)

Had I just flirted with her? Yeah I did! 'Cause I'm a player. No, I don't think that's why.

"Hey, bro, sorry to break your what seems to be deep train of thought, but Mr. D just called a camp game of Capture the Flag. You coming?" Travis interrupted my thoughts.

"Uh, yeah duh, 'course I'm coming!" I grinned.

"Well then suit up!" He smiled. This was going to be fun.

Ashton's POV

Percy had just told me tonight would bs my first opportunity to play Capture the Flag, Camp Half Blood style, and I was pumped.

Percy told me to put on my armor, and led me out to the weapons shed to pick out a weapon of my own.

He opened the shed's door and led me inside. The shed was full of swords, daggers, bows and arrows, spears, and shields.

"You can basically pick any one of these weapons you want, but they wont work as well unless the weapon chooses you." Percy said.

I looked around, my training had shown that I was best with a sword, so that's what I looked for.

My eyes landed on an imperial gold sword that was about a foot and a half long, with a trident on the end. I carefully picked it up.

"What's this from?" I asked.

"I'm not exactly sure, but it had to be something from Poseidon." He replied.

"Wow." All the sudden my arm zinged, and I almost dropped the sword, it was like the sword had connected to my arm, we were one.

"I think it just chose you." Percy smiled.

"I guess so." I fingered the trident, and pressed down. All the sudden, the whole thing collapsed into a wrist watch, with a mini trident for the hour hand.

Connor's POV

The Athena cabin had organized what cabins were on which teams, so naturally, we had the Zeus kids, and they had the Poseidon kids. And since Nico was off at Camp Jupiter visiting Hazel, we didn't have to worry about which team got him.

We were on the team with the Zeus kids, which meant we had Jason Grace.

Even though Jason was technically a child of Jupiter, after the war he had moved in to the Zeus cabin so he could be closer to his girlfriend, Piper.

As Travis and I walked out of our cabin, I grabbed my helmet and thunked it on my head.

I was ready for war, and at CHB a game of Capture the Flag was pretty much a full blown war. Of course killing was forbidden, but hurting however, was not forbidden so afterwards the Apollo kids were always busy in the infirmary.

"So my man," Travis said. "You ready for war?!"

"Yeah I am!" I said, and grinned. Travis and I always had a few good tricks up our sleeves for this game, and boy was it going to be fun.

Ashton's Pov

I saw the Stoll twins headed my way, and so I ran over to them.

"Ready for war?!" I asked.

"You bet we are!" Travis replied.

"Oh we are so going to beat you." Connor said.

"Let the best team win." Travis grinned.

"You bet we will." I laughed, and then went to go find Percy.

I snuck up behind Percy, who was sitting by a tree, a blonde girl in his arms.

"Boo!" I screamed, and Percy jumped.

"Don't sneak up on us!" He laughed, and then tried to tackle me.

"Hey, hey stop!" We were both down on the ground rolling around and pretending to punch each other.

"You two." The blonde girl laughed. That must be Annabeth.

Percy and I stood up.

"Ashton, this is Annabeth." Percy said.

Annabeth looked just like the pictures posted all over cabin 3's walls. Percy was so smitten.

"Hey." I said. "You look just like your picture."

She laughed. "I told Seaweed Brain to take those down, but he refuses."

We both laughed, her grey eyes shining.

"Well, if we want to be there when the game starts, we better get going." I announced.

"Right." Percy said as he walked over and helped Annabeth up.

"Race you there?" I challenged them.

And we were off.
