Chapter 1
“Hey Addie, wait up?” I stoped walking at the sound of her voice and looked up to see my best friend, Arianna, frantically running towards me. Her curly brown hair was flying all around her. The clomping of her stilettos got louder and louder as she got closer to me. High heels are Arianna’s guilty pleasure; she wouldn’t be caught dead without them due to her tiny height of 5'1".
Arianna started out as my roommate freshman year here at Colorado State, but we quickly morphed into best friends. She is in her third year of working on her major in fashion. Arianna dreams of being the next big thing.
“Add-ison,” she whined dragging out my name, “stop would you? I'm in heels.”
I stopped and turned towards her, "when are you not in heels?" I joked.
She brushed off my teasing and instead greeted me with her excited, crystal blue eyes, “you wouldn’t believe what just happened to me.”
I let out a small laugh, Arianna was always exaggerating, so I'm excited to hear was interesting thing happpend to her this time. “What?” I chuckled.
“Hunter Daniels just asked me out!” she shrieked.
“Wait, the Hunter Daniels?!” I can honestly say, I wasn't expecting that.
Hunter Daniels, the dreamy captain of the basketball team. He’s your typical tall, dark, and handsome. Did I mention handsome? Arianna and I, along with every girl at this school, have been drooling over him for are entire college career. I got to admit, I'm incredibly happy for her.
“Yes,” she screamed, “and there's more!"
What else could there possibly be, Arianna’s dreams have already came true with this date.
“He’s bringing a friend for you!” she screamed jumping on top of me.
Wait…what? I do not go on blind dates. Not after the whole Brian thing, that is. That was the biggest disaster ever, I ended up in the hospital; Arianna knows that. “Not going to happen.”
Devastation washed over Arianna’s features, “but you have too!”
“Arianna…”
“Addison,” she whined, “he said I had to bring someone for his friend. I’m begging you, I’ll do anything.”
“That's kind of a douchemove...”
“Addie,” she begged.
“Do you know who his friend is?” I asked slightly caving in.
“I don’t really remember. Axton, Andrew, Adler...No! Aiden! His name is Aiden Carter.”
"I have never heard of an Aiden Carter, does he go here?”
“I don’t know…” she responded.
“Ari…”
I was answered with big puppy dog eyes that she knew I couldn’t say no too. “Ahh… fine!” I groaned.
Arianna instantly brought me into a tight embrace, “Oh thank you, thank you, thank you,” she said into my chest. “Come on lets go get ready,” she said grabbing my hand.
“Wait, its tonight?” My nerves instantly settled in, what did I just agree too?
“Yes, now come on,” she said pulling me in the direction of our dorm.

“This one?” Arianna asked holding up a dress.
“No.”
“This one?” she said grabbing another one.
“No,” I cried out burying my face in a pillow. “Ari this is useless, we’ve been at this for hours," I exagerated. "Maybe we should just can-”
“Don’t you dare say cancel,” she threatened pointing an angry finger at me.
“Fine, but honestly Ari, I have nothing to wear.”
“Oh, I can’t believe I forgot. I got the perfect dress,” she said running over to her closet.
Minus the height difference, Arianna and I were the same size so we were constantly sharing clothes.
Arianna pulled out a tight little black dress with three-quarter sleeves from her closet. The front was really simple with a very low cut. “Wait…but that’s not the best part,” she smiled turning around the dress.
My mouth dropped once I got a look at the back. The entire back was open, almost showing too much. There was a single, bedazzled strap that ran horizontally across the back. It was perfect. “Arianna, your genius,” I beamed.
“Well, I would hope so; that is what I’m going to school for after all… Now go try it on,” she said while pushing me into the bathroom.
After getting it on it was even more perfect. It was tight and showed off all of my curves in the right places. It was a little short though due to Arianna’s and my height differences, but it didn’t show too much.
I opened the door to see Arianna’s jaw hit the floor. “Girl, you look hot!”
An instant blush rose to my cheeks, “thanks,” I mumbled.
“Alright now let me do your hair and makeup,” Arianna smiled, pulling me to my bed.
Forty-five minutes later, Arianna took a step back admiring her work. “All right, ready?” she asked holding a mirror.
I gave her a simple nod, and she turned the mirror around to face me. I was shocked, I didn’t look like myself. The natural brown, smoky eye Arianna did accentuated my deep blue eyes. My long blonde hair cascaded down my back in loose curls. “Ari, you did fabulous.”
“Thanks babe,” she smiled at me.
Arianna looked fabulous too. She straightened her curly brown hair which caused it to pass her shoulders by about an inch. A dark purple smoky eye finished off with cat eye eyeliner covered her eyes. The purple on her eyes matched the purple of her dress. The bodice of her dress was covered in rhinestones and had a sweetheart neckline. The dress was tight until it got to her tiny waist, and then purple chiffon flowed down to her knees. She finished it off with six inch black stilettos, of course.
My outfit gave me some serious confidence, and I have to admit I’m a little excited for this date. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still nervous, but now I’m slightly excited. “So, what’s the plan, are they picking us up or do we meet them somewhere?”
“I told them we would meet them at Bisetti’s at 8pm,” she said through a smirk.
“Bisetti’s? Damn…” Bisetti’s was not cheap, and with having a college student’s budget I haven’t stepped a foot near that place.
“I know,” Arianna said with a knowing smile.
“It’s 7:50pm, were going to be late,” I squealed looking at the time.
“Will be fashionably late, literally,” she smirked.
The drive to the restaurant took less time than I would have liked and before I had time to back myself out of this date we were pulling up into the parking lot. "Are you ready?" Ariana asks nervously looking over at me.
“As I’ll ever be…” I say as I step out of the car. Just as I step out of the car my stiletto finds a nice little hole to get stuck into and I go plummeting down to the ground. Great start.
Please give at least one more chapter a try, it gets a lot better next chapter.
