Chapter 10

(Addison’s POV)

Calmness. That’s what I feel, complete and utter calmness. I’m still slightly freaked out about the whole ‘Aiden is a wolf thing,’ but I feel too calm to care right now. Whatever they gave me had a serious kick to it, I feel good. Don’t get me wrong, all of my marbles are still in the bag, I’m not crazy; but now I’m not panicking. I am cool, calm, and collected.

Aiden is looking at me like I’m crazy, but I’m not; seriously, I’m all here, I promise. “Can we talk now?” he asked me. He was still looking at me like I was a nut job.

“Yah, let’s talk,” I told him. I looked him straight in the eye; trying to prove to him that I’m not crazy.

He must have realized I wasn’t nuts because he stopped looking at me like I was barely hanging on, and instead replaced it with a wary look, “Well for starters, is there anything you want to ask me? I’m sure there are a million things running through your head…” he asked this carefully.

I took in a big gulp of air; I may be calm, but I’m still pretty freaked out about this situation. “You’re a werewolf,” I told him in disbelief.

A soft chuckle escaped his beautiful lips, “Yes, yes I am. I thought we established this when I turned in front of you.”

I let out an awkward smile at my stupid statement. I then began to feel a soft blush creep up my cheeks, oh great…

Aiden hesitantly brought his hand up to cup my face. His thumb gently stroked my enflamed cheeks, bringing warmth throughout my entire body, “You are so adorable when you blush,” he whispered huskily.

His touch has caused my heart rate to rapidly increase. How is it that I was completely horrified of him not even ten minutes ago, and now I feel like I’m seriously falling for him?

He then took his hand away from my face. I instantly wanted him to put his hand back as I felt the cool air hit my face.  I’m embarrassed at how much I long for his touch…

As if feeling the same feelings I currently have, he took the same hand that held my face and wrapped his fingers around my hand. His thumb spun in gentle circles as he held on to it. “So do you have any more questions Addison?” he teased.

I shot him a sarcastic glare before responding, “How- how did you become like that?” I stuttered.

“I’ve always been like this, it’s in my blood.”

That came as a surprise to me; I didn’t realize it was like that. “Have-have you always been able to do that? That wolf thing I mean…”

He gave me an uneasy smile, “My wolf has always been with me, but was just too weak to come out and show itself. When I was fifteen my wolf made its first appearance, and that’s the same wolf you saw today.”

“Does it hurt?” I asked, “You sounded like you were in horrible pain…”

He slightly shifted on the bed; I could tell he didn’t really want to tell me. “It’s not the most pleasant thing…” he trailed off.

I felt a pang in my chest. I didn’t like the thought of him needing to endure such pain, “I’m sorry you have to go through that.”

He gave my hand a gentle squeeze, “don’t worry about it; it’s just part of what I am. Besides, the pain only lasts a few seconds...”

I gave him a small reassuring smile. “So…umm… why did you tell me you’re a werewolf? I mean, that probably isn’t information you feel like sharing with everyone.”
