Chapter 14
(Addison’s POV)
The light began streaming through the window causing me to squeeze my eyes shut, longing for a few more minutes of sleep. As I realized sleep would not overtake me once again I opened my eyes and began taking in my surroundings. I have absolutely no idea where I am at. This led me to shoot out of bed, well attempt. I didn’t end up getting very far with a heavy arm surrounding my waist. Pain instantly shot through me, I ached all over. What was that from?... and just like that I remembered. The man at the party.
I’m quite certain the heavy arm on me in the horrible, sweaty man from the party. Did he do it? Did I get raped last night? I swallowed the bile that instantly began climbing up my throat and tried my hardest to keep in my scream. I desperately wanted to turn around and get a look at my attacker, but his arm held me firmly in place facing the bright window.
At this point in time I only have a few options. I am well aware of the fact that his grip on me is way to tight and I don’t stand a chance in making a silent escape. I can either quietly lay here pretending to sleep and wait for him to wake up. But, if I do that he may possibly rape me again, or worse, kill me! I think my best option is to scream for help like there is no tomorrow. I don’t want to know what he will do to me when he wakes up, but I’m in no mood to find out.
Sucking in a deep breath I let out the loudest scream I could possibly muster. I was surprised a sound like that was able to make it’s way out of me. My screams quickly turned into chanting help. The man next to be abruptly moved and the weight around my waist ceased. I took this as my opportunity to make like a bat and leave. I very ungracefully rolled off the bed landing in a painful heap on the floor. I didn’t stop there though, I had some serious adrenaline pumping through my veins right now. I scrambled roughly to my feet, but had my face quickly stuffed in the man’s chest. He held me close to me whispering ‘shh.’
I began screaming again and swung my body like a mad women desperately trying to get out of his steel grip.
“Addison, baby. Please calm down, i’m not going to hurt you.” That voice instantly brought warm chills down my spine. I knew this voice.
I quickly pulled back and looked into the pained expression on Aiden’s tear streaked face. “Aiden?”
“Yah, baby it’s me,” he cooed bringing his hands up to my face and wiping away my tears. “Your perfectly safe.”
“Oh my God,” I holler as I rush to him and cling on like he is my life line. As soon as I receive the comfort of his arms the sobs began to start, and they don’t stop. My body shakes with tremors as Aiden holds on to me tightly, rubbing his hands up and down my back. “I’m so sorry I let him hurt you, baby. I will never let anyone hurt a hair on your head again,” he whispered into my hair.
I feel moisture fall into my hair, and quickly realize Aiden still crying. “I’m sorry I didn't’ get there sooner, sweetheart,” he whispered.
I pull back from him and once again look into his tear streaked face, covered in agony. “Wait, you saved me?” I asked.
“I did,” he told me, “I’m just sorry it took me so long to get there.”
I pull him back to me and cling to him. Guilt quickly gnaws at me. How could I have been so stupid to push him away from me. This boy is the best thing that has happened to me, and how he is handling this situation right no
w is a perfect example. There is no way I can live without this boy, I need him in my life.
“I’m sorry, i’m sorry, i’m sorry,” I chant as I cry into his tear soaked shirt.
He pulls me away from him, and cups my face with his large hands. He rubs soothing circles on my cheeks with his thumbs, which instantly calms me down. He brings his head down to my level and looks me straight in the eye, “don’t you dare apologize for what that low life, sick bastard did to you.” As he said this his eyes took on a deep, murderous look, but then went back to their normal color coated with adoration.
“No,” I say shaking my head, “I’m sorry I left you. It was the dumbest thing I have ever done. You have been nothing, but perfect and I push you away at the first sign of trouble.”
An unreadable look crossing his expression, but I continue, “and if you will give me the opportunity I would like to get back with you because I think I could really come to love yo-”
Before I could finish my sentence his warm, inviting lips crash into mine and take me by surprise. He lifts me off the ground and spins me in circles as he kisses me. He then sets me back on the ground and pulls me into his body. “Addison you have just made me the happiest man alive,” he whispers as he kisses the top of my head.
