Chapter 2

(Aiden’s POV)

“Think fast!” I turned to see a basketball flying towards my face. I quickly shot my hands up and caught it, completely unfazed by the ball that almost hit my head.

I let out a deep laugh at Liam who obviously tried to startle me, but with no success.  “Now Liam is that any way to treat your Alpha?” I jokingly scold.

Liam laughed in return, “just testing your skills there, Mighty Alpha,” his voice rang of sarcasm.

“And the result of your little test is that I’m very skillful?” I said returning the sarcasm.

“Psh,” Liam let out a snort, “yep, that’s what it is…”

We were both laughing as I chucked the ball back at him.

Liam is one of the members of the River Valley Pack, which just so happens to be the pack I’m Alpha of. I have been the Alpha of this pack for six years, when my dad handed me the position for my eighteenth birthday. Our pack is very rich and powerful, and because of that we are well known; by werewolves that is. Humans have no idea werewolves exist and we try to keep it that way, it would be a huge danger and a threat if information of my species got into the wrong hands. My pack all lives under the same roof up in the mountains, but many of them attends college at CSU. As much as I would have liked to, I could never go to college because of my duties as Alpha.

I jumped out of my thoughts after I was hit with the ball. Liam snorted, “skilled my ass,” he said under his breath.

“Do you want to say that to my face?” I said puffing my chest to make me look like a tough guy.

“Yes, I said ‘skilled my ass’,” he said speaking up.

I instantly tackled him down to the ground and we began wrestling. I have been thoroughly trained in fighting so I quickly had him pinned.  Sitting on top of him I said “Say it again Parker,” referring to his last name.

He just laughed, “All right man, sorry, sorry. Now get off me you way a freaking ton.”

He was trying to get out from under me, but I had him pinned tight. “Oh I don’t know about that, I’m pretty comfortable,” I said digging my hips into him.

“Aiden,” he groaned dragging out my name.

“Tell me how much you love me,” I demanded.

“Sorry man but I don’t roll like that…”

I ground my hips into his stomach harder, “tell me,” I threatened.

“Oww,” he screeched, “I love you, I love you, now get off.”

“See that wasn’t so hard,” I said patting his face.

I then got off him, and he quickly rolled over. “Jeez dude, you got to lay off the pizza or something, I think you broke some ribs.”

I laughed in response and then gave him my hand to help him stand up. “Dude, here comes Hunter,” he said pointing in the distance.

Sure enough Hunter, my beta, was running quickly in our direction.  He was running fast, I hope there isn’t a problem. I took off towards him trying to meet him half way. When I got to Hunter he quickly grabbed onto my forearms nearly making me stumble. “What’s wrong?” I said in an agitated voice. I hope it wasn’t the pack.

A huge smile lit up his face, “I found her,” he beamed.

“Found her? Hunter what are you talking about?” I asked.
