A Soul Saved

Fallen on the ground,
Left there by carelessness
Perhaps by coincidence
Or maybe on purpose.

There it lies
Awaiting help,
Yet none stop to give the time of day
And so, would not stop to aid a soul.

Lying there unseen,
Lost and forgotten,
Sad and alone,
With no hope left.

Along comes the one,
One who sees worth.
Stoops down
And lifts it up.

In a pocket or a purse
There it happily stays
Among many saved.
