It had been a while since anyone had spoken. Reginas eyes kept flicking towards the clock in the yellow bug, each minute passing slower than the last. She hadn't even not use that by the time they were getting towards the wooded road the sun had begun to set. It was then she realised it was in fact only two months until Christmas so it was going to be getting darker. Both her and Robin had been seated in the back, him on the left and her in the middle however at the last stop he had began feeling ill and had to go to the front. So now it was just her, sitting looking out the window unsure of what to think. She felt the car slowly come to a stop as Emma pulled a scroll from her pocket. She say for a few minutes looking at the scroll, not moving much at all.
"Will that be what gets us back in?" Regina leaned forward, resting her hand on the shoulder rest.
"Yup. You ready to do this?" She looked back at Regina who nodded, although Robin could see the reluctance in her eyes.
"It'll be alright, my love." He smiled back and watched her move for the door.
"You do the spell, I need to get some air just now." She stepped out and watched Emma unravel the scroll. She began saying things, Regina couldn't hear what, but all she saw WA her lips moving ever so slightly. Looking up towards the road she watched as something changed slightly, but nothing big. Almost like a slight shimmer of dust lay over like a wall on the road. Closing her eyes she sighed, she should've known it wouldn't work. I mean it's not as if the scroll was their last option but she just told her last boss were to stick his job and she cleared out the apartment.
Why didn't the damn scroll work! The words ran round her head like racing cars all crashing into one another once she looked up. Tears were forming in her eyes, but for the best reason she could imagine. There in front of her was the town line, behind it half of Storybrooke stood. Snow, Charming, Hook, Baby Neal, Roland, Belle and even Rumple stood there. But none of them mattered, as she there stood smack bang in the middle of it all was her little prince. Henry. She didn't know what she was doing until she felt her heeled shoes hitting the road. It prove harder to run since she'd gotten changed, but still she did her best. Her legs moving as fast as they could between the restricting material of her purple dress. Her black heels clicking louder with every step she took. Her breath soon became uneven but she couldn't care less. She was so close that she did care about anything other than her son. Stopping suddenly she pulled off the shoes and held them in the hands as she ran barefooted, with the exception of her tights, on the cold concrete. She felt the nips of little stones sharp edges pushing into the base of her feet, but she kept going. She kept going until she felt herself pass over that line. That on red line that changed everything. She crossed it and ran into his arms. Holding each other tighter than ever before they stood for the whole world to see, or at least the whole rod Storybrooke. She pushed ban and held him at arms length, her hands placed firmly on his shoulders.
"You grew." Tears dropped down her face as she smiled at her son.
"You shrunk." He nodded at her shoes as she laughed a watery laugh.
"That I did." She placed a soft kiss on his forehead before brushing the rest of his hair away from his face.
"You also need a haircut." She tilted her head, her brain immediately back in Mother Mode.
"I love you, too." She smiled at his response.
"Did ya miss me R'gina?" She looked down at her side and saw the little boy standing at her legs.
"Of course I did! How couldn't I?" She kneeled down and pulled him into a hug before releasing him and raising her voice so everyone else heard too.
"I don't know about you guys but I am having a serious craving for a grilled cheese?" The crowd, which had died down to just her dearest and nearest, chuckled as she wrapped her arms around Henry and Roland then began their way to Granny's.
"Regina! You made it back!" Granny spoke up from behind the counter as the group walked in.
"That I did. Grilled cheese all round please. Emma's paying." Regina looked at Granny before winking at Emma who shook her head, but then reluctantly agreed as a treat for her arrival back.
"Fine, you heard her granny, put it on my tab." she joined in to help Hook, Robin and Charming as they dragged chairs and tables around the centre and made one giant table.
"Sorry folks! Closing early tonight." Granny spoke to the couple who tried to come in and watched them shake their head and walk out.
"Oh hey, Regina right? You were the Queen back home?" A woman wearing a nurses uniform spoke as she touched Reginas shoulder, which she quickly stopped doing when Regina glared at her hand.
"Yes, why?" She stood up so she wasn't being spoken down to, something she hated.
"I just wanted to say Henry's doing well now, so you don't have to worry." She smiled at her an walked out, unaware of the turmoil she'd just caused.
"What?" She almost spat her words as she looked at Robin, who looked away as if he hadn't heard a thing.
You won't be able to talk soon either if you don't start talking.
Robin looked around as he heard Revinas voice in his head, but she wasn't moving apart from as she was sitting back down in her seat.
Are you in my bloody head?
Off course, Dear, otherwise how would we talk.
He looked up add saw her smirking at him as he shook his head.
About what?
The fact you lied about my sons health.
He looked to her once again an saw she'd raised her eyebrow and began to smirk slightly at his next thought, which she could obviously hear.
Shit.
Hope you guys enjoyed it! Please remember to comment and vote! See you next time!
