Regina lay there staring into space when her phone started to buzz. Picking up the phone she checked the time, 3:08. She'd gotten a text from Emma. Opening the messages her heart rate sped up, how on earth did she knew Regina so well.
Hey Regina. If I know you at all, and I like to think I do, then you are probably planning on leaving during the night. Maybe you already have. I just want to let you know we'll figure this out and you'll be missed by more than you think. Good luck.

"Damn you Miss Swan." Regina cursed. Looking to the time again she knew that in fact now was the perfect time to go. Robin was fast asleep and his arms weren't wrapped around her. Standing up she grabbed her outfit for the day. Purple dress, black leather jacket and black heeled boots. Once dressed she brushed her hair but decided to skip make up. She grabbed her bags and next thing she knew she was ready to go. Everything was at her front door.
She stood at her bedroom door and placed the note on her pillow. One for Henry, one for Emma, Hook and her parents and one for Robin. She quietly walked towards him and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead before magicing herself into her car, along with all her belongings.
She drove around town for about a half hour slowly taking in the place she'd called home for the past 30 years or so, little did she know Robin was one step ahead of her.
Regina was on her third lap of the square when she finally decided she'd best get going. Driving the long road down she finally reached the town line. She was too busy concentrating on the town line she hadn't noticed the car sitting just at the side of the road. As the large lights suddenly beamed in through her window she jumped and slammed the breaks. Heart pounding she got out the car ready to yell as much as possible at them, until she saw the sherif badge on the side.
"Swan." She breathed out. Walking to the car window she banged loudly on it screaming as she was far enough away from town she wouldn't wake anyone.
"Swan! Open up! Whatever you're playing at it's no fun so either open up or I'll open it for you! SWAN!"
"Not Emma, love." She spun to see Robin standing behind her. She looked back and realised it was the passenger door she was banging on, not the drivers.
"How did you-"
"Know? I know you my love and I knew you would do this to save me the pain. I also knew you would leave those letters. I'm not stupid Regina." She threw herself into his arms holding tightly. Silently hating herself for trying to do this
"I'm sorry Robin. I had to. Not because you're stupid but because I knew it would've been too painful for us to say our goodbyes."
"I know, it's alright." So there they just stood. Holding each other, knowing what the other person would be saying. Yet neither of them saying a word.
"Now go. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking about the sun rising soon. So go." He let her go and watched her step back.
"I love you." She whispered so quiet he barely heard. He kissed her one last time. Holding her face to his, savouring there every last moment. Both knowing this could be the final time the see each other.
As she got in her car a sad smile formed on his lips as he slowly mouthed his 'I love you too.' back. Driving fast to get going she watched in her rear view mirror the town she loved slowly fade out. Until she hit the shield around the town and everything she once knew was gone. She could no longer see Robin or the town. All she saw was trees. Nothing more. She sat there for several minutes just looking in amazement at what was suddenly gone. She looked down and as her phone buzzed.
Go! I'll be here for you once you return. Robin xxx
She smiled softly looking back. Even though she could not see him she knew he would still see her. Giving one last nod she set off, not looking back once.New York-Present Day
"Lucy! Get to work! Now!" Alan shouted from the back.
"Alright, alright!" She hopped off her stool and went to the next table.
"Hi there what can I getcha?" A slight twang of a New York accent forming.
"Burger with fries." A low voice grunted.
"You got it." She scribbled the abbreviation onto the notepad before going back to the kitchen.
"BURGER WITH FRIES TABLE SEVEN!" She yelled back to the noisy kitchen.
Several hours and multiple grumpy customers later she began heading back 'home'. In other words Neals old apartment, the one that had housed Rumple when he was in New York.
"Lucy, Lucy, Lucy. I couldn't of thought of something better." Regina mumbled to herself walking home. She had to give herself a whole new identity once she'd gotten to New York. Lucy Hood. She wasn't going to bother changing her last name but knew it was too much of a risk so decided to go with it. Her story was she moved because her apartment in Boston had burnt down and she wanted a fresh start, she hadn't really bothered about coming up with a new story so just used Emma's old one. Unfortunately when coming up with her "fresh start" she forgot the fact she'd need money. She'd only brought enough to last a month or so.
Once back at her temporary apartment she pulled her keys from her coat and fiddled with them until she got the one she needed.
"Home Sweet Home." She sighed, thinking of the irony, before collapsing on the couch.
I've only been living here for two months and I already wanna jump off a frickin bridge.
Her thoughts circled her head. True enough she managed to get a job pretty much straight away. It's pay sucked, along with its management, but it paid the rent. Walking into the bathroom she stared at herself in the cracked mirror. Her hair was just passed her shoulders now and her eyes looked dull and grey. Ever since moving here everything's went downhill. She hardly recognised herself anymore.
Luckily for her though she hadn't heard from any Storbrookers so it meant everything was stable for now. Quickly showering then changing she lay down and faced the horrid ceiling. Her clothes were the only reminder she really had left of her time in Storybrooke. Thinking about what life must be like for them right now. She checked the clock, 8:15. She could see the sun rising behind the buildings.
Oh how I love doing the night shift. Missing a full day. Regina thought sarcastically before turning over and going to sleep. Like she now did most days.Storybrooke-Present Day
Robin, Roland and Henry walked down the path towards the school. Ever since the schools went back Robin and Roland had walked Henry to school almost everyday, not wanting to leave him alone. Emma or one of the Charmings would usually pick him up. Now and again Hook would do it but he couldn't most of the time.
"Oh! Roland you go walk with Henry I need to take this." Robin let go of his sons hand and answered Emma's call.
"We got it! Meet us in the library at noon!"
"Wait Emma what have you got?" Robin spook confused.
"A way to get rid of Zelena."
Then the phone went silent. Robin tried not to get his hopes up, this wasn't the first 'breakthrough'. Last month Emma and the team thought they'd found something great, until they figured out Zelena was tricking them. Then they found another two weeks ago and then five days ago, both of which had dead ends. Now this one.
"Oh boy." Robin exhaled before running to catch up with the boys. Not so sure about this one but please tell me what you guys think! Hope you enjoy it! And please vote and comment!
