Regina had been hiding out for almost a full week when she finally tried to contact Henry. She knew he would have been waiting for her to call but never expected him to be upset. She knew he'd be a little mad, but if she'd stayed she would have done something she regretted. She'd checked in with the hospital and everything checked out, he was fine. She looked out her window as she sipped her coffee. The trees surrounding the cabin made it almost impossible to see anything, she certainly couldn't see any of the town, but she could just see the outlines of the sun rising in the distance.
Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Henry watched the sun rising from his window, his temporary window. He quickly headed downstairs as Mary Margaret called for him. She'd been looking after him in the mornings since Emma left for work much earlier than usual. She'd been doing anything to help find Regina. She went back to the mansion to get a belonging of hers, for the tracing spell, but once again was met with a magical hologram. Everything she tried seemed to fail, miserably. Even Robin had no clue. He also tried to get in but was greeted by a hologram of his own. This time Regina explained to him how she needed space, if it began to get urgent to contact her, for whatever reason, he should call her on her emergency number she gave to only him and Henry.  He texted her normal number, several times, but as expected got no answer.
It was reaching the time for him to be leaving, and he'd barely touched his breakfast.
"Not hungry?" Mary Margaret asked sweetly, as she placed Neal down to play.
"Not today." he checked his phone again, but was faced with a blank screen with no notifications.
"You know Grace is probably walking to school, or eating her breakfast." she sat beside him and watched as he slammed his phone down in frustration.
"I'm not messaging Grace." he spoke bluntly, something which took her by surprise.
"Oh okay, well you best get going or else you're going to be late for school. Don't worry about your bowl I got it." he stood up and put his coat and scarf on before heading off.
"See ya." the door slammed before she could reply.
"Bye." She spoke to herself and began cleaning up his plate.
"Apparently his mom just disappeared. They haven't even told him yet though. As far as he knows, sea kept in contact." He heard everyone whispering as he walked across the grass. Everyone was so naive. Of course he knew she hadn't been in contact. It was his own fault. He should have told her. He should have at least let her know he'd been in hospital. The worst part is the fact he'd gotten Gold to do the spell over Emma in the first place. He'd apologised so much for it, she of course forgave him very quickly. She didn't know, but he'd cried in his room almost every night. He knew he'd be lucky if Regina ever spoke to him again.
"Henry!" Grace ran over to him, as he immediately took her hand.
"Hey, you done the homework?" The walked over to their usual bench and sat down at it.
"For math?"
"No, science. Mr Kitsis said we could hand it in either today or tomorrow."
"Oh yea that, did it a few nights ago. Did you do the math stuff?"
"Not yet, doing it tonight." As they spoke the bell rang out, indicating they would have to separate for classes.
"Speak to you at break?" Grave turned to him before the parted ways in the hallway.
"Yea, see ya."
"Bye!" She shouted down the hall and headed to her classroom.
The day seemed to speed by. Henry went to his classes, meeting up with Grace during break and lunch. They'd spoken of how she was leaving early for a doctors appointment which ultimately meant he'd get the bus home alone.
Soon enough the bell rang and Henry speedily headed for his locker. Grabbing his coat and scarf, and discarding his books into his locker, he headed outside.
"Hey Thomas! Ready to go!" He had to help out with some of the young kids. Once the older ones reached 15 they'd help with the youngest ones by takin them to the buses. There was usually three buses. One going down the Main Street, Henry's bus, one going to the south of the school, little Thomas' bus, and one going North of the school. East and West residents got buses from the other side of the school.
"Bye Henry! See you tomorrow!" Thomas shouted from his bus, Henry and him had grown quite close since August. Almost like a brotherly relationship.
It was a ten minute journey for Henry to get off. He usually got off at the least popular bus stop, Granny's Diner. Everyone else got dropped off closer to the houses.
"Thanks Tracy!" Henry called to the bus driver as the doors closed. He shivered a the cold air whipped around him.
"Maybe you should do your coat up?"
"Moooom, I'll do it up in a minute. I'm just off the bus." He turned around and smiled, then suddenly realised why he'd just said. Standing in front o him was the very woman he'd been dying to see. Dressed in her long brown coat, black trousers and boots, red and green tartan scarf and finally her purple blouse was Regina Mills. The very woman who'd been in hiding for almost a week. The very woman who he hurt in front of him.
"Mom?" Tears welled in his eyes as his voice shook.
"Hello my little prince." He ran to her and hugged her tighter than before.
"I'm sorry mom! I should've told you and I didn't. I should've come clean. I made Robin not tell you and Emma! I made Robin swear! I'm so so sorry mom!" He spoke so fast and flustered it almost made her laugh.
"It's alright sweetie, I'm sorry I got so angry in front of you. I needed time with my emotions and my feelings which was why I left. But I'm back now. I promise." She spoke softly and held his face between her hands. She was completely confused when his smile dropped and his face went a ghostly pale.
"What is it?" She looked behind them and immediately grabbed Henry, pulling him close.
"Mom..." His voice trailed off as his question was lost in his thoughts.
"Go get Emma. Run! Don't stop no matter what. Make sure you get her and everyone else to gather in the town hall. Immediately. Go sweetie. Run!" She spoke quickly as he ran off in another direction. She knew they didn't have much time. She knew that they might not be as lucky this time, but she knew they would try their best. Last time they outsmarted the witch, but this time her sister might be more prepared...
I'm a bitch...I know...sorry...do you still love me? 😉
