Chapter 8: Cole MacGrath

In the Netherrealm, Cole continued his search for Liu Kang and the other revenants. Eventually, he was stopped by one of them...a fallen ally who assisted in the defeat against Shao Kahn. It was Jann Lee.

Cole: Jann Lee...

Jann Lee: MacGrath...

Cole: Where is Liu Kang? I need to speak with him.

Jann Lee: You may address me. I will inform him.

Cole: I'm afraid that can't happen. I must speak with him face-to-face.

Jan Lee: That will not happen.

Cole: Then you leave me no other choice.

Cole tried to force Jann Lee out of the way but he wasn't budging. The two fought each other and put up a brutal and challenging fight. Cole had to see Liu Kang, one way or another. So he ended the fight by using his weapon to smash it, against Jann Lee's head, cracking the back of his skull, slamming his weapon to uppercut Jann Lee, breaking his mean and finishing it off by striking his chest, destroying his ribs. It worked like a charm, as Jann Lee was knocked out.

Cole: You always had to do things the hard way.

Cole continued on, in the Netherrealm, searching for Liu Kang and was eventually stopped by two other revenants...Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Cole: You guys play on stopping me, as well?

Scorpion: Leave now!

Cole: I'm not gonna bargain with you, demon.

Scorpion: You bargain, with your blood!

Cole: Don't make me do this.

But they were no longer listening, as they both attacked Cole. MacGrath, a man of once Elektrokenisis and Cryokenisis...now with power to manipulate water faced off against Scorpion, the spirit of flaming vengeance and Sub-Zero, a cryomancer under the Netherrealm spell. It was a difficult fight, Cole couldn't use his powers against Sub-Zero & Scorpion, so he had to rely on his hand-to-hand combat. However, it's not to say Cole hasn't faced against more than one enemy...but Scorpion and Sub-Zero were powerful assassins. But...Cole was stronger than all of them combined and took them down.

Cole: I swear...I'll find a way to fix this.

Cole pressed on and made it to the throne room. When he arrived, Liu Kang and Kitana were discussing something...something about the Cyber Initiative. As he began to approach them, Sindel stopped him, along with Tina's father, Bass.

Sindel: MacGrath, nice to see you again.

Cole: Nothing nice about it. Step aside!

Bass: You will not attack the emperor and empress.

Cole: They're not your leaders, Bass. You command yourself. Remember this!

Bass: You will leave...or die!!!

The third fight arrived, with Cole MacGrath fighting against Sindel and Bass Armstrong. Cole did his best not to provide harm to Bass, but Sindel was no exception. Liu Kang and Kitana watched, as Cole fought against Sindel and Bass. However, he grew tired of this and ended the fight. With a powerful and deadly kick, Cole knocked out Sindel. And as for Bass, Cole knocked him to the ground and smashed his fist against Bass's head, knocking him out.

Cole: Forgive me, Bass.

Liu Kang: Impressive. Jann Lee was suppose to end you. And if not him, then Scorpion and Sub-Zero. It still amazes me the powers a man like you possesses.
