Chapter 13: Marie Rose

Everyone continued on, into the base, looking for Eliot. Marie grew concerned, as he was nowhere to be found. They are eventually stopped by someone. It was a revenant and a cyborg. It was Jacky Bryant. He had gone through the cyber initiative.

Jacky: This is as far as you go!

Cole: Jacky!

Jacky: You will turn around and leave.

Marie Rose: Not without Eliot.

Jacky: This is your final warning! Turn around or suffer.

Marie Rose: You don't tell me what to do. Now beat it!

It was Marie's turn to fight a powerful opponent. And she wasn't playing around. Punch after punch, kick after kick, it was hard to tell which was more brutal than the other. She was planning on getting to Eliot, no matter what. She pulled off some of the most deadliest combos and blows you've ever seen, ending Jacky so easily.

Marie Rose: No one stands in my way!

Ethan: Wow...nice work.

Marie Rose: Let's keep moving.

The group pressed on, eventually being stopped by another cyborg...Raidou.

Raidou: I'm impressed. It seems as though Liu Kang's revenant servants couldn't even stop you...but I'm afraid this is where it ends for you.

Marie Rose: Step aside! We won't let anyone stand in our way!

Raidou: You wish to find your little friend? I'm sorry to tell you that he is no longer with you. Any moment, he will become a cyborg...and your new enemy.

Marie Rose: I'm done talking about this, time for you to know your place.

Marie challenged Raidou, next. Before they could fight, Honoka grabbed her shoulders and offered to assist. Marie nodded and the two teamed up.

Raidou: Perhaps it was best if Nix did kill you. No matter, I can do so, instead!

They gave it everything they got, when battling Raidou. He had power like nobody's business but Marie and Honoka were even stronger, as a team. There combos and skills combined made them that much deadly and able to defeat Raidou.

Marie Rose: Never underestimate me!

Honoka: We did it!

Marie Rose: That much closer to Eliot.

Ethan: Then come on, let's go!

The continued down the hall and made it to a large opening. There were tubes on the walls, each them was a Phase of numeral subjects. And in the Phase 5 tube, there he was...Eliot. With a cyberized eye, on the left side of his face and other mechanical devices, attached to his body. It looked as though he was almost completely a cyborg.

Marie Rose: Eliot!!!

Momiji: Oh my god...

Ethan: He's...he's been cyberized.

???: Not just yet...but he will be soon enough.

Hayate: Donovan!!!

Donovan: Good to see you again, Hayate.

Cole: Where are you?

Donovan: Oh, don't worry about that. Your focus is on Phase 5.

Ethan: Phase 5?

Donovan: The tube right above. Quote an impressive subject he is, isn't he? The one you call...Eliot? He will much stronger, once he is a complete cyborg.

Ethan: Damn you! Is this what you did to Jacky?!

Donovan: He offered to become a cyborg. So he could be strong enough to defeat you.

Marie Rose: Obviously it didn't work.

Donovan: Yes, obviously. But...Phase 4 & 5 will finish that for me.

Hitomi: Phase 4?

All of a sudden, on the left side, doors began to open. And a stranger came walking out. The stranger had a woman figure and was draped in a black cloak. But when she removed her hood, her face was a shock to the group.

Hayate: Kasumi?!

Donovan: Yes..land no. This is not the Kasumi that you know of.

Ethan: So she's a clone?

Donovan: Correct, a long awaited project for me. I control her, give her commands. And soon, Phase 5 will be the same. Shall we begin?

Phase 4 began walking up to the group, as Marie did the same.

Ethan: Marie, what are you doing?

Marie Rose: If we take her down, we can save Eliot. I'll distract her, you get Eliot.

Momiji: Are you sure?

Marie Rose: I can handle this. Go!

But Marie was over her head. Phase 4 was strong...too strong. Marie tried to attack but Phase 4 was just too strong. Everytime Marie tried to attack the Kasumi clone, it vanished into greenish aura and then attack, from behind. The others tried to release Eliot from the tube but it wasn't budging. Marie was growing tired and weak and eventually succumbed to Phase 4's attacks. She began walking to the wounded Marie Rose and was about to end her life...but she was saved by Honoka, who blocked the attack. She pushed Phase 4 back and landed on her feet.

Honoka: Marie, we have to go.

Marie Rose: But...Eli...ot...

Momiji: It won't budge...

Tina: What do we do now?

Cole then noticed the door still opened and went for it.

Tina: Cole!!!

Ethan: Dad!!!

Cole continued running for the door, until someone came out trying to stop him. It was Liu Kang. He sent a fire ball, hurtling towards Cole but he dodged out of the way and slipped under Liu Kang, making it to the door. Honoka held onto Marie and they made there way back outside. But the revenants they fought before had arrived and were ready for another round. Hitomi, Kokoro and Leifang dashed towards them and began to fight.

Ethan: Momiji, help mom get Eliot out of there!

Momiji: What?

Ethan: Liu Kang is mine.

Tina: Ethan!

Hayate: Listen to him, we have to hurry.

Ethan began walking to Liu Kang, with much anger in his heart.

Liu Kang: So, I finally meet the son of the legendary MacGrath.

Ethan: And proud of it.

Liu Kang: I wonder...will you succumb to being a revenant, as easily as your father?

Ethan: Your only going to make this fight much easier. You turned my dad into a monster, now I'm gonna show you what happens when you mess with a Conduit!
