Chapter 12: Kokoro

On the chopper, Zack was piloting and making his way to Donovan's new headquarters. It was silent the whole way there. Marie was worried sick about Eliot, as was Ethan. All the Mugen Tenshi students were.

Zack: So you ready for this?

Cole: More than I'll ever be.

Zack: You sure you wanna get back out there, especially, when you were brought back from the dead.

Cole: Undead...and yes. I have to be there for my son...he needs me.

Zack: I hear ya. You just be careful, alright?

Cole: You remember to be here, when we are finished.

Zack: Have I ever let you down?

Tina: There it is!

Cole: Alright, Zack. You know what to do.

Zack: Gotcha!

The chopper flew over the base and everyone jumped out. Cole and Zack gave each other a thumbs up and he flew off.

Ethan: Everybody ready?

Hitomi: We're all set.

Ethan: You know the drill, we distract Donovan's goons, find Eliot and take Donovan down.

Kokoro: Here they come!

From the opening of the entrance base, the revenants came walking out.

Bass: Well you have arrived.

Tina: Daddy...

Cole: Where's Eliot?

Jann Lee: His whereabouts are not your concern.

Hayate: Jann Lee, please, listen to me. This is not your destiny.

Jann Lee: Maybe not,while I was alive...and whom must I blame for that?

Cole: It wasn't there fault. You sacrificed yourself to save them.

Jann Lee: And yet I am the revenant.

Leifang: Jann Lee...it doesn't have to be this way, please let us help you.

Jann Lee: This is no helping me. Thing are better this way. Liu Kang has shown me the power a revenant possesses.

Cole: Liu Kang has manipulated you, just as he's done with the others.

Bass: This is your last chance. Walk away.

Cole: I don't think so. I'm here just for Eliot. I'm here for you.

Bass: Well then, by all means...come and get me!

Jann Lee: Attack!!!

The revenants charged in and began fighting Cole and his friends. Cole and time teamed up to fight Bass, while the others battled against the other revenants. Hitomi and Leifang were battling Jann Lee and seemed to be struggling. Kokoro dashed over to assist them but someone stopped her. It was a woman with long blonde hair (having it in a ponytail), and she was wearing an all blue suit. It was Tina's old rival, Sarah Bryant.

Sarah: Going somewhere?

Kokoro: Stand aside!

Sarah: Not very intimidating, are you?

Kokoro: Do not underestimate me!

Kokoro chose to fight against the revenant Sarah Bryant. Showing off her skills from Hayate and Hayabusa, Kokoro proved she was more than a match for Sarah. And considering she was Tina's rival...it was impressive that Kokoro could withstand against her.

Kokoro: I'm stronger than I look.

Kokoro left Sarah and then continued to Jann Lee. He had beaten Hitomi but Leifang was determined to keep going. In a rush to assist her friend, she teamed up with Leifang.

Kokoro: Thought you could use some help.

Leifang: Thanks.

Jann Lee: It doesn't matter who many you pin against me. You will never defeat me.

But Kokoro and Leifang were gonna prove him wrong. It was a hard fight, as they tried to move on opposite sides to confuse him, Jann Lee was quicker than they expected. But they found his weakness...his thirst for power. When he became to go mad, that's when the girls strikes. Causing him to lose control and attacking his opened spots, making him weaker. To finish him off, Kokoro flipped into the air and came crashing down, elbowing him, on his head, knocking him out.

Kokoro: Even in death, you have no power.

Leifang: And I have outgrown you.

Hitomi finally got up and walked over to the girls and smiled, that they had won. However, before they expected it, the revenant Nix came from behind and attacked Hitomi, injuring her badly and tossing her over the edge of the base. Thanks to Leifang, she quickly dashed to her friend and held onto her arm.

Nix: Let's have some fun, yeah?

Kokoro: This won't be fun. This will be personal!

Kokoro fought against Nix, hoping to keep her busy, until Leifang pulled Hitomi back up. They both used all there power against each other, hoping to weaken the other. Nix used her napalm abilities while Kokoro stuck too her Mugen Tenshi skills. Nix might have been powerful but Kokoro was faster. She debased Nix's attacks, used speed to her advantage and began to overwhelm her with powerful combos and to finish it off, Kokoro grabbed Nix, spun in the air and came crashing down.

Kokoro: You harm my friends, you answer to me!

As Kokoro finished, Leifang was able to pull Hitomi back up on the base.

Kokoro: Are you alright?

Hitomi: Don't worry about me. I'll be fine.

Leifang: Nice work on showing her who's boss.

Kokoro: Thanks.

Back with the others, they finally fended off against the revenants and it was time to head inside.

Cole: Everybody still here?

Kokoro: All accounted for.

Ethan: Let's keep going, Eliot is still in there.

Tina: ......

Ethan: Mom?

Tina: This is your grandfather.

Ethan: Don't worry, we'll save him.

Tina: I know.

Momiji: Where too now?

Ethan: Inside the base. Let's get going!

Hayate: Liu Kang and Donovan are probably waiting for us.

Ethan: They won't stand a chance against us.

Marie Rose: He's right, we need to keep moving.
