"No." I growled.
"No, she isn't ready?" Kyle pulled a confused face. "Pretty sure I just saw her all dolled up."
"You know what I mean. You are not allowed to date her." I tried to close the door in his face, but Mum appeared beside me.
"Don't talk to him like that." She whispered through gritted teeth. She faced Kyle and pulled a sickly sweet smile. "Sorry about her, I broke up with her Father quite recently. This is Tabitha. Tabitha, this is Kyle."
Kyle grinned at me. "Nice to meet you."
Whilst Mum was smiling at me - waiting for me to reply to Kyle overly politely - Kyle winked at me.
"Tabitha, honestly, stop being so childish. I'll be back at around 10, if that's okay with you?" She was talking to him.
"Of course." He replied.
"Your dinner is prepared, you just need to heat it up. Love you."
"Love you too." I narrowed my eyes at Kyle until Mum shut the door.

"Kyle's doing me a favour. Sorry, it has to be this way."
I jumped as I was sat at the dining table, pushing my food around my plate. Analetta had somehow let herself into the house.
She sat across from me. "You're going through Hell lately, I understand. It's part of being the Saviour - but I know you can handle it."
I laughed. "Can I?"
She just smiled at me.
"Why me?"
"Just accept it, bitch." Elias' Mother was here now. "I want my necklace back, thief."
"She didn't steal it! I gave it to her. And stop calling her horrible names."
I turned to see Elias and his Mother.
"Please let her keep it." He was standing really close to her, holding her hand as if she was going to disappear again any second.
"I don't want her to have it." She looked at her son. "But if it means a lot to you..."
I took the necklace off. "No. It's yours." I smiled. "You're back now, so I have no right to keep it."
"No. Have it." A ghost of a smile appeared on her lips. "It came from a waste of space, anyway. I don't know why I want it."
"Nice to see you reunited. I'm glad I got through to you, Samantha."
"You knew she was still around? You didn't tell me?" Elias yelled. "You're a snake."
Analetta shrugged, that wicked smile playing on her lips. "No, I'm a witch." She chuckled. "We don't feel compassion like you regular humans do. Unless you're a special case...or our soulmate or child." The last words were cold. Even after all these years, she was still hurting from the loss of her true love; still holding a grudge. I knew that I would hurt over Seth for as long as she had over her loved one: I would hurt forever.
"Anyway, leave, please. I can explain things to you later, Elias. But if you don't leave, I won't explain anything to you. And we don't want that, no?"
Elias shook his head and made a quick exit, followed by his Mother.
"So, first you take Seth away from me. Then you set Kyle up with my Mum?" I sniggered at her. "I don't think you ever cared for your partner at all. You have no heart. You're just angry that someone had the power to take something from you."
Analetta remained calm. She smiled at me, crossing her arms over her chest. "You and I both know that isn't true. We can sense each other's pain, because we both know how it feels. You understand, no?"
"Why did you have to take Seth from me?"
"You know why. I have a deal with Elias."
"Well." I swallowed. "Elias isn't going to convince me not to help the residents. I'm doing it, regardless."
She chuckled in a sinister manner. "Then, you'll lose Elias and Kimberly, too."

I was lying in bed after an hour of crying when Mum got home. I'd left Analetta in the dining room to do whatever she wanted. After all, I was used to unwanted guests here. Elias being one of the main ones.
She sighed as she entered my room. It was a sigh of delight. "He's so sweet, Tabs." She sat at the end of my bed.
"Really." I mumbled.
"I don't know why you're being like this. I'm finally finding something to make me happy since leaving your Father an-" she stopped. I looked up and realised she was staring at me.
"I'm listening." I muttered.
"No, Tabbi...you've been crying?" She looked extremely worried. She was always over-the-top when it came to me. "I'm so sorry. I should've thought about how this would make you feel. But..." She sighed. "Your Dad and I can't ever be together again. You understand, don't you?"
"I'm not a little kid. I know. It'll just take some getting used to." I was relieved at the fact that I didn't have to make an excuse myself, because Mum had for me. If only I could tell her the real reason I was in all of this pain.

"You know, you're still my number one girl." Kyle was standing in the hallway when I was on my way to the kitchen for a late night snack.
"Jerk." I nudged him on my way past.
"I mean it. Your Mum's nice and all, and I can see where you got that pretty face of yours - but you...you're something else."
I punched him in the chest and he laughed. "I told you not to touch me."
"You don't scare me, anymore. I know you're actually quite sweet. When it's beneficial to you, of course."
Kyle grabbed me and slammed me against a wall. "Really? You really think I'm not a danger to you anymore? Kyle Grace?"
"Get your hands off her!"
"Oh my God." I managed to whisper, my heart skipping at least two beats. My breath hitched, and my skin prickled. "Oh my God."
