Elias never became comfortable with the relationship between Tabitha and Seth, and always found himself jealous and angry when he saw them together, but he came to realise that he cared more for Tabitha's happiness than for his own. This realisation hit him when he was asked by Seth to be his best man at their wedding - he felt a wave of joy and excitement and immediately agreed.
