"Where is she?" Seth yelled, sobbing his ghostly heart out. He was leaning over Tabitha's unmoving body. "Why would she do that?!"
Elias stood back from the body, unable to look at her. He bit his lip to suppress his own sobs. "This is why Analetta told us we may never see her again. Right?"
Seth heard Elias, but didn't reply.
"That little bitch!" Carver shouted. "And that awful, awful witch!"
"Carver. Get the fuck out if you're going to be so disrespectful." Samantha waltzed in, putting an arm around her son. "I'm sorry, baby." She whispered into his ear, kissing him on the cheek.
Elias let out his pain, sobbing into his Mother's shoulder.
"She still isn't back, Eli!" Seth jumped up, shaking violently.
"Okay, but: can we eat that?" Kyle asked, pointing to Tabitha's still corpse.
"You sick fuck." Seth tried to charge at Kyle, but Elias held him back.
"It's not worth it." Elias pulled Seth into a hug - something they had never done, even as best friends. Tabitha really was like a glue.
"Tabbi, sweetie, what are you doing down here? I've been looking for you all over, come back to the party."
Everyone - except for Carver, who continued to shout and tear out his own hair - froze when the voice of Tabitha's Mum rang throughout the basement, her footsteps quickly descending the stairs.
She looked around for a few moments before her eyes landed on Tabbi's body. Everybody in the room - except William - watched her face drain of all colour, and her eyes lose any light that was in them. She crumbled to the ground, her jaw dropping open. It was as though she herself had died for a few moments, before she let out an agonising scream.
"My baby!" She screamed. She knelt there for a while, just screaming, before more footsteps could be heard above the basement. Tabitha's Uncle Ian was the first into the basement, and he immediately saw what was wrong.
"Holy mother of God..." Ian ran over to Tabbi's body, lifting her off the floor.
When Tabitha's Auntie Sarah came down, she lifted Tabitha's Mum from the ground. Her legs shook and she almost vomited.
"I'm not sure you should see up close..." Ian said.
"No! I have to." Tabbi's Mum slowly made her way over to Ian and the corpse with the help of Sarah, and she weeped harder than ever when she saw the body.
Seth and Elias weeped, too, they hadn't stopped once. But their cries got worse when they saw how Tabbi's death had affected her Mum...she would never know how brave Tabitha actually was. She would never understand why exactly her daughter died.
"This is my fault!" She squeaked. "Life has been tough for her lately, a-and..."
Tabbi's Mum walked slowly away, and Ian looked at Sarah.
In a hushed voice, Ian asked, "but why is her dress ripped open?"
Unable to speak through her tears, Sarah simply gave a shrug of her shoulders and turned her head away.
