I spend the rest of the evening with Chelsea and her new little friends, all of which were only college freshmen.
My jaw dropped when she told me that.
“What are doing with freshmen??”
“Oh whateves, they’re all over 18, and they’re fun.” She said.
“They’re like babies!” I laughed. Chelsea and I wouldn’t be caught dead with the freshman at our college – especially the girls. But here she was, in sunny California, making friends with these college newbies, who don’t seem to mind her company at all.
“Puh-lease,” Chelsea said while taking a lick from her cherry Blowpop. We were still on the beach, but crowding around a warm bonfire. The sun was pretty much nowhere to be found, and the freshmen boys were busy splashing the other girls with sea water. “You’ve seen Dylan,” she continued. “He’s far from baby-like.”
“Don’t tell me you think he’s cute.”
“Oh god no, he’s not cute, he’s hot.”
“Chelsea Fuckin’ Daniels!” I nudged her so hard in the side. She must have thought I was kidding because she choked out a laugh.
“What?! Don’t tell me you don’t agree.”
“You have a boyfriend!” I tried not to raise my voice too high. This was a typically Chelsea thing, but I didn’t think this was fair. She had an outstanding boyfriend who’d do anything for her, but here she was on a random beach with some random guy who is barely legal.
“It’s not like I’m screwing the guy!” She argued back. Thank God she kept her voice low enough. Baby Dylan was heading straight for us.
“Hey Jordan,” He said, shaking some water out of his short black hair. “Come swim with us! You’re missing out.” He flashed a smile at me. But then I caught his eye move to Chelsea, and saw the quick up and down look that he gave her.
“L.O.L., no,” I said, without even meaning to spell it out. This was his third time asking me to. “I was actually about to leave.”
“Aww, stay,” Chelsea said, tugging my arm as I stood up. I caught Dylan biting his bottom lip.
“Nah, I gotta go. Actually,-” I reached into my tote bag to find my phone. Once I found it, I checked the time. “Shit, it’s almost 10 o’clock.” I started to step around the fire and dash towards where I parked Blake’s Mercedes. “Chelsea, I’ll text you later!” I called back at her.
I heard Dylan hesitate to say something, but Chelsea yelled over him. “You fucking better!” She said. “Love you, girl!!”
Despite her easy opportunity to cheat on her boyfriend at the moment, something inside me told me otherwise. But then again, Chelsea Daniels can be one crazy bitch.
Everything about it made me mad. But I couldn’t help but to smile as I walked away.
Because Chelsea Daniels was my crazy bitch.
Is it acceptable to drive a luxury car in a bikini? I wasn’t sure, I’ve never done it before. Has anyone ever? I hope not. It would be dope as hell if I were the first.
