When I woke up the next morning my face was stained with dry tears, my eyes felt sore and swollen.
I heard the door open and Bandit came running into my room and jumped on the bed.
"Daddy!!!!!" she yelled with a smile
"Good morning Bee" I said "Why don't you go wake uncle Frank up?"
"Good idea!!!!!!!" she said
She left the room, flung Franks door open and all I heard was "UNCLE FWANKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then a loud thud followed by an "oww" Frank obviously fell onto the floor. I chuckled to myself.
"Can I trust you to make breakfast and NOT burn my house down??" I asked Frank.
"When have I ever done that?" he asked.
"You've attempted...but failed, Frank" I said.
Frank went silent and walked off into the kitchen. Bee followed him.
I went and took a quick shower before the nanny interviews started.
Frank made scrambled eggs. I could taste a few eggshells, but I wasn't going to complain.
Jamia showed up at 10:45, without the girls. She dropped them off at the babysitters.
The line up of nanny's were :
Leanne at 11:00
Jessie at 11:30
Alyssa at 12:00
Nancy at 12:30
Krista at 1:00
And Sarah at 1:30
At 11:00 Leanne showed up. She was about 5'3 and had short black hair. Frank, Jamia and I sat down at the kitchen table with her and talked about things like, previous employer's.
I let Leanne play with bandit for a bit. But bandit didn't really seem to like her too much.
She left as Jessie came.
Frank whispered in my ear "she was okay"
We Did the same with all the nanny's.
Bandit bit Jessie.
She liked Alyssa.
Nancy was a fan of MCR and just talked about the band the whole time.
Krista didn't show up and then Sarah showed up.
She was about 5'5 and had blonde long hair.
"Hey, I'm Sarah" she said as she shook my hand.
Bandit ran up to her and said "you look like a princess"
"Why thank you sweetie!" Sarah said with a smile.
The interview went very well. I really liked Sarah and Bandit. They were a good fit. At the end of the interview Sarah and I stepped out into the backyard for a smoke.
"Well, Sarah, you're hired" I said.
"Thank you Mr. Way, but there is one thing I ask" she said
"please, call me Gerard. And what Is it?" I asked
"I don't like working for a smoker ... And its very bad for Bandit..." she said
"..you want me to quit.." I said
She nodded. I sighed. She was good with Bandit. So quitting so she'd work for me was worth it.
"okay. I'll quit" I said
"when do I start?" she asked.
"whenever you can" I said. "move into the spare room when you want to" I added.
"Okay, thank you Mr.Way, I mean, Gerard." she said
