Frank went home and I went into the house to see Bandit.
She was on the couch eating ice cream and watching cartoons-as usual.
I looked at the cast on Bandits arm. It had two scribbles on it. I walked closer to get a better look.
I love you Bee,
Uncle Frank xoxo
Get well soon Bandit !!!
Sarah :)
That was cute, I thought.
She saw me looking at her cast.
"Daddy, will you draw me a picture on it ?" she asked
How could I say no to her? I didn't want to draw... But I certainly wasn't going to say no to her.
So I said i would.
I was going to draw for the first time in over a year.
"what do you want me to draw?" I asked
"me you and mommy" she said
"okay" I said
The more Bee talked about her mom, the less it bothered me. I liked it now. Sure I missed Lyn-Z like crazy, but it wasn't painful to here her name anymore. I was proud of her.
I wanted Bandit to grow up knowing who her mom was. I wanted Lyn-Z's presence to be there throughout Bee's childhood.
So I drew a picture of Bandit, Lyn-Z and I.
Bee loved it.
It was finally bedtime, and thanks to the pain meds, Bee fell asleep right away.
After she went to bed, Sarah and I talked and had some coffee. I told her about the move and new house. She was excited. So was I !
