I felt better. Better than I have in a while.

My sleeping pattern is completely messed up and interrupted by Donny, but I would prefer it than not hearing him screaming. Slade has pushed himself since the first nappy incident, and he can now -without gagging- take the nappy out of the room. The improvement is small, but it shows he's working hard.

When I told him that he said he hated kids before he fainted, Slade was painfully quiet for hours. He wouldn't tell me what was bothering him, just silently watched me cuddle and care for our son.

When I was meant to be 'sleeping', I listened to Slade promise Donny the world, his empire, a good life, and all the peace he will find. He promised to never turn his back on him and he'd die a thousand times over before ever finding a fault in him.

I sobbed.

Slade was incredibly embarrassed that he was caught in a vulnerable moment.

Today, just a week after we've returned to the palace, Slade says we need to come out of hiding. We need to assure the Kingdom that we're strong and won't be brought down by the Vampires. Apparently, after I was taken, it all went down in panic and everyone's still jumpy.

Slade more than others.

Christopher and Lucy have spent the most amount of time with us, since they're the only ones Slade will allow in the room. Lucy adores her 'Pumpkin-Tot' and I've even seem Christopher crumble under Donny's cuteness. He denies it, of course, but I've seen it.

There's nothing quite as sweet than seeing a growth man with a hard exterior pull faces at a baby.

Donny, however, is a little...different. In the eye department.

I first noticed it after a sudden scream in the middle of the night. I thought it was because of a full nappy again, but Donny seemed too...shaken. That's when I realised he was having nightmares. Already.

And his eyes were glowing in terror.

They've changed from his murky grey colour I was used to. Now, they're two separate colours; one being a silver colour that swirls in a continuous circle and pulses when he's concentrating on something. The other is a striking ruby red colour that burns bright and flickers with sparks.

Christopher explained to me that because he had Vampire venom in his blood stream, excess Lycan power from Slade, and Witch genes, his eyes are showing the trapped power he now possesses. A mixture of powers.

Lucy says he'll be the turning tide if a war should ever break out.

I just think it makes him more of a gift for me.

"You're both warm?" Slade asked me in concern as he made sure my coat was wrapped securely around me. He then looked down at Donny, who I have wrapped up in two blankets and held close to me.

"Yes, darling." I said gently swaying to the sides while Donny stared up at me with his eyes sparkling. He stares more than I thought a baby would, but I don't mind. Slade looked us over once again before nodding firmly to himself in assurance that we're wrapped up. "We'll be fine. Lucy will be with us as well as my mother when she arrives. The Warriors won't leave our side the entire day and I'll tell you if we decide to sit outside." I whispered comfortingly to him as I reached up and cupped his cheek lovingly. It's hard for both of us to be apart from each other right now, but Slade needs to work on something with Christopher, Colt and Brock about the Vampire problem.

"I can't lose you again, Piper." Slade whimpered out to me helplessly as he leaned into my hand and my lips parted at his pain before I stood on my toes and gently kissed his lips.
