I had Donny wrapped tightly around me at the dinner table. When Slade and I returned to the palace in the late afternoon, Donny crawled across the floor -at a speed that even surprised Slade- to me and he hasn't released me since. Pop informed me when he jogged out of the kitchen after Donny that he's been alternating between staring intensely at the front door, squirming, and screaming for me since we left.

Pop only managed to remove him from the front room in the last hour to give him a bottle.

I've been trying to comfort Donny since then while Slade was dragged away from us -protesting- to deal with arguments between Alphas. The meeting was supposed to have ended hours ago, but with Colt in charge they've been power struggling all day.

Slade was thunderous since he had to leave Donny and I with Donny in this mood. I'd hate to be the Alphas.

It also made Slade and I realise that we won't be able to sneak away too often like we would like to -not with these repercussions when we arrive back.

Lucy and mum has prepared dinner for everyone tonight. I would usually help them but I can't detach Donny from me. It looks divine. Slade begrudgingly invited all the Alphas to have dinner with us and stay the night. A few other women came to assist mum and Lucy to prepare larger meals to deal with the numbers and appetites.

There was so much food.

Slade has his hand resting on my knee in comfort and concern. Every time Donny made a loud, terrified sound or whimpered into my neck, he'd squeeze my knee and cease conversation instantly to look over at us and shift closer. Donny screams when I try to untangle his arms from my neck and that makes everyone stare at us.

"Donny, baby; I'm right here." I whispered soothingly to him pressing my lips to his neck and he whined loudly hiding his face further and tightening his arms. Slade placed his hand on the back of Donny's head while Pop glanced over at us. His eyes were different, which I've come to realise is him tapping into his powers. It's creepy and scary.

Many of the Alphas shifted nervously at Pop's movements and the power now radiating off him while others snarled dangerously. Slade silenced them with a pointed look -he informed them before dinner that Pop is part of his pack because he is my grandfather. He ordered them to behave as well as they can.

Did not stop some of the crude comments spat Pop's way when they saw him.

Pop was mildly amused by their reception of him.

"He is giving off large amounts of fear, Princess." Pop informed me worriedly straightening in his seat and searched the sea of faces around us closely. His eyes then flickered around the room and lingered on the door before he frowned in irritation. "I cannot pinpoint the source of it." Pop muttered bitterly to me clenching his hands tightly and I swallowed thickly rubbing Donny's back in comfort.

I can't ignore his distress anymore; he was quiet during my meal, but has been becoming progressively worse.

"You can see what it is yourself, Piper." Pamela offered simply from across the table and everyone turned towards her in surprise. "Jumping?" Pamela stated with an exasperated expression on her face and mum's eyebrows shot up in surprise before nodding in agreement.

Mum and Pamela have been getting along these last few weeks. Pamela tries to spend as much time as she can with us and I know she's putting effort in for me, but I can't forgive or accept her yet. Pamela and Pop did finally see each other face-to-face a couple of weeks ago and there was a little bit of a blow-up between them.

Suffice to say, Pop won and the East side of the palace is being rebuilt.

"What's 'Jumping'?" I asked mum and Pamela in confusion and mum nodded in allowance for Pamela to explain it to me. Pamela smiled in appreciation before shifting her seat closer to the table eagerly.
