Slade:

I can feel the absence of Piper with every breath I take.

The pain of not knowing where she is or if she's hurt is agony for me. The hatred for the vampires and Tilly –Tilly who was once one of the most important people to Piper- burns like acid through my veins.

But most of all, I can feel the panicked-insanity.

Mates aren't meant to be separated for long periods of time. It drives Lycans insane and can cause murderous sprees in the desperate search to get back to the mate.

It's worst the more power you have.

If I can't find Piper soon...there is no telling on how many innocents will meet an early death as I search for my mate and child.

They've even blocked off the mind-link I share with Piper so I can't even hear her voice to keep my Beast at bay. If I could hear her, I'll last longer without her touch. But only by few days at most.

We're quickly running out of time.

My eyes frantically searched the area in front of me before I shifted back to my human form and hurriedly pulled clothes on. I was too restless to travel by car to Mandy's house. There is no possible way that would have relaxed me.

At least some of the tenseness I feel has reduced slightly.

Archie slowly stood beside me with Terri by his side. I was very, very tempted to rip their hands off when I saw them clutching at each other. The thought of Piper's reaction stopped me.

My claws did puncher my own skin.

"I can't believe we never noticed Mandy was a Witch." Jay stated in surprise as he appeared beside me as well. Mark stood slightly behind him glaring at the dark house in front of us suspiciously. Witches are renowned for tricks and ploys.

"Especially if Lucy spoke the truth about her power; any Lycan or otherwise in our area would have felt her." Terri whispered timidly as she swallowed thickly at the thought of facing her first ever Witch. I released a low growl before crossing the street with powerful strides. I need my mate back.

I pounded loudly on the door and impatiently waited for Mandy to answer. The others gathered behind me as lights lit a path to the door. I could hear Mandy's annoyed mutters under her breath just before the door was roughly pulled open.

"I swear to God, James; if this is about the Goddamn card again I'll-Oh!" Mandy's threat cut off suddenly in stunned surprise when she finally recognised me. "Definitely not my ex-husband." She mumbled under her breath in embarrassment before giving me a tired look. "Is something the-Is Piper having her baby now?!" Mandy cried in panicked excitement and I silenced her with a sharp snarl that she blinked in surprise about.

I waited tensely as her eyes swept over the faces of my company before landing on mine again narrowly.

"Slade, where is my daughter?" Mandy asked me slowly as her grip on the door-handle tightened and lights flickered behind her. "Why do you Lycans look ready for war and have a lost look about you at the same time?" Mandy asked me again when I didn't answer her question instantly and I curled my hands into fists at her question. "Or, better yet, why are you so close to your Beast?" She finally asked the question that truly gave what she is away and I let out a powerful roar that she barely flinched at.

"May we come inside, Miss Roberts?" Archie asked her politely as he stepped forward and Mandy glanced over at him for a moment before her eyes narrowed further at him.
