Kailas POV

We finally arrive at school with 15 minutes to spare. Austin and I exit the car and walk into the school halls and I can immediately feel every pair of eyes turn towards us. I'm used to this now as it happens every morning, apparently, according to my other best friend Sky, everyone is waiting for the day that Austin and I walk into school hand in hand. People even have bets on how long its going to take, I mean honestly get a life people! Even though I do have a crush on him, I have had my heart broken too many times and I don't think I could go further than liking him.

I am brought from my thoughts by a voice yelling "surprise cavaliers!" and a set of arms wrapping around my neck and a body jumping into me. I instinctively wrap my arms around the body and look up to realise the form belongs to my laughing best friend... well second best friend to Austin, but don't tell her that!

"Far out Skylar! You scared the hell out of me!" I whisper screamed at her.

"Well that was the point, and well don't for catching me. I defiantly thought you were too busy thinking about Austin to react quick enough." She replied normally to me.

I elbowed her in the ribs, which caused a chuckle from Austin, Nate and Levi. I widened my eyes at the company I forgot we had and lowered my head in embarrassment. Let me introduce you to the rest of my friends.

Skylar is 17, my best friend and has been for the past 15 years. She is on the taller side of average height and has long, straight black hair that frames her heart shaped face. She has long black eyelashes like me, and bright green eyes. Sky has fair skin and freckles lightly dotting across her nose and, just like me had a slim but toned body.

Nate is 17. He is a best friend with Austin and Levi, which meant we soon become friends as well. He had short brown hair and hazel eyes. He was tall, built and tanned just like Austin.

Levi is 18. He is best friend with Austin and Levi but him and me have been friends since prep. He had short salt and peppery hair and blue eyes. And just like the other two boys he was tall tanned and built.

I smiled at my friends as we all walked to our first class, which surprisingly enough we all had together.

after putting my books in my locker I head over to the grass hill where we sit for lunch. Everyone's already there as I sit down and begin my lunch. I can't help but looking over at Austin who is laughing at something Nate has said. So much has happened between him and me but we are back and stronger than ever. I can't help but flash back to year 10 when I had told him I liked him and he had told me he liked Layla and me. I still remember when I found out he had asked her to be his girlfriend; it was the first time I had ever had my heart broken. Eventually I realised that I couldn't live without him in my life even if that meant we could only be friends. They broke up in the Christmas holidays between year 10 and 11. June last year was defiantly the worst time for us though. We had gotten so close again and he had confessed his feelings for me and only me. We caught up and everything was good until I found out that he had kissed Layla the day after. I had never been so heart broken in my life. We didn't talk for 2 weeks until I finally told him how much he had hurt me. After that he made it up to me every single day for 2 months until I finally forgave him.

I shook my head ridding my mind of the painful memories. All that mattered was that we were back to being best friends and being happy. Austin caught my eye and gave me a big cheesy grin and I'm sure my face mirrored his.

Austin's POV

I woke up to the blinding sunlight that streamed through my window. Rolling over in my bed I looked at my clock to see it was 5:30am, after I stretched I hopped out of bed, grabbed my sweatpants and jumping out my window. Now before you think I'm some crazy parkour ninja I'm a werewolf. In fact I'm the Alpha, well soon to be alpha as soon as I turn 18, which is tomorrow, I will be given the Alpha title form my father. I gracefully land and am met by my two best friends Nate and Levi. Nate is my Beta and Levi is my third in command. We shift into our wolves and take off running around the pack borders towards our secret waterfall. My wolfs name is Blake and he has pure black fur with bright green eyes. He is like my best friend which is good, but when I screw up then he goes full silent treatment on me. When we reach the pond we all lap up the water and shift back into our human forms and grab some pants from behind a nearby tree.

"I can't wait to find our mate. Hopefully we find her tomorrow !" Blake yipped in my ear.

"I agree man. I can't wait to see her beautiful face and hold her and mark her as mine." I say back possessively.

"I bet she is going to be beautiful, kind the perfect mate and will be the perfect Luna for our pack." He purred back in response.

"I will still love her is she's human but if she is and she's not yet 18 then I wont be able to mark her or take her as mine." I sadly respond.

There's a rule that if mated to a human, they are not aloud to be marked until they are 18, because that signifies that they are ready to bear the mark. You are aloud to tell them of our existence at any point, but the marking must be done after they are 18.

"We will wait as long as we have to so we can have what is ours, you better not screw this up for us otherwise I will never talk to you again." My wolf growled to me.

I rolled my eyes at him and blocked him out.

"What were you talking to Blake about?" Nate questions, I've known him my whole life and our wolves are friends as well.

"About our mate." I state.

"Are you excited to meet her?" Levi asks from beside me.

"More than anything." I reply

After sitting at the lake and talking about mates and pack stuff we run back to the pack house and walk into the kitchen to find my mum and Skylar have made us all breakfast. Yes, Skylar is also a werewolf but just like us, Kai doesn't know about that part of her.

"Morning sweetheart." My mothers angelic voice sooths

"Morning mum, Skylar, breakfast smells so good!" I reply while hugging my mum.

I fill my plate with back eggs and toast and begin eating with the boys. I glance down at my watch and realise I have to pick Kai up in 30 minutes. Thanking mum for breakfast, I race upstairs and shower and get ready for school.

"Bye mum, see you at school guys." I yell out to everyone as I race to my car.

I own a matte black jeep wrangler and I love it. I got her for my 17th birthday and I treat her like me baby.

I jump in and make my way to Kailas house. When I arrive I honk the horn signaling that I'm here. She comes racing out the door and slides into the passenger seat.

"Hey Kai, how are you this morning?" I ask her making my voice more huskier than usual.

"I'm wonderful this morning Austin, how about you?" she chirped back in her soft voice.

"I'm good now that you're here." I wink back at her.

I can see the blush start to creep onto her cheeks as she hurriedly looks out the window in her attempt to hide it from me. I chuckle at the affect I have on her and turn on the radio as we head to school.
