The Nanny Job Ch.5

It's hard to believe only a few days ago, I had met a lady at a grocery store, which led me into getting this job! And today I'm moving in...

I only had five boxes packed and two suitcases. I lugged a few of my boxes to the elevator and rode it down, towards were the rental truck was. Joy had offered to hire some moving people. But I didn't really trust them.
So she sent Felix to help, but of course he's just sitting in the truck, waiting for me. How helpful...

Once I went on the elevator for the 10th and last time, I only noticed how exhausted I really was, I'm really gonna kill Felix all he did was load up the boxes into the back.

Over the few days we've become good friends, his nose is fine now, but whenever I've been taking care of the children or talking to Joy, he'll pop in and just bother me, he's like the older brother I've never had.

When I was done I hopped into the truck and had a sudden craving for ice cream, so I started poking Felix's cheek and asking him for ice cream.
"Abby! I'm driving stop poking me!" He whined, I smiled evilly and kept on poking his cheek that's what he gets, that only made him keep on whine like a five year old.
"Get me ice cream!" I demanded,
"No." Was his response,
"I want it, get me it!"
"How about...... Nah..."

I ended up slapping his arm and he ended up caving because I threatened him, saying I'd tell Joy he didn't help me move anything, He grumbled as we drove through the McDonalds drive through. I ordered an ice cream cone, extra large fries, 20 piece chicken nuggets, and a water.

When we got the food my mouth watered at the smell. I thanked him and began to eat.
I saw Felix's hand trying to get one of my fries so I quickly slapped his hand away. "Heyyyyy!! I bought them! I should be able to get something..." he says, I nod my head "Ok fine, since you bought this, you can have the water." I say and hand him the water. He huffs and drinks it. I just smile at his sour expression.

When we got nearer towards my new house I could feel my eyes drooping.

I don't know when I fell asleep but it only felt like a few minutes, I was woken up by someone pinching my cheek, really hard might I add, I shot up glaring straight at Felix (of course) and smacked his hands away my face, I was satisfied when he yelped and rubbed his hand.

"Hey Ab, you know the boxes aren't going to move themselves?" Felix asks, as if I'm stupid. "I know Felly, that's why you're here! You're going to move them." I replied smartly, while smirking as he glared at me for using that pet name on him, he hated it.

Once he unloaded all my boxes into my room, he then plopped onto the couch. He sighed deeply as if he worked hard or something... which he didn't. Joy had taken the children out. So that I could set up without any distractions or worry about anything.

Unpacking everything went by fairly fast. When Felix had turned on music claiming it'd help us (me) work faster. All he did was cut open the boxes, but once the music came on he suddenly forgot about all the work and danced and sang. I couldn't help laughing whenever he danced or sang, I joined in on a few of the songs I knew, and he eventually dragged me to dance with him.

We were right in the middle of a song singing, when someone cleared their throat, Felix and I quickly stopped singing, and looked towards the door.
It was Finn, Finn looked at us with the you-are-crazy look, I could feel my face getting a bit warm. "Uhm, hi Finn."
I say awkwardly, he nods in my direction, jeez would it kill this guy to speak? "Felix I need to speak to you, and Abigail the children are home, my mother is leaving soon, and she would like to speak to you." He says, and walks out with Felix trailing behind him.

After walking in a square 10times I finally found where Joy and the children were. I walked into the door and Ash ran over to me and I bent down so I could hug him. "Hiy, Miss Abby..." he says shyly, I still can't get over his cuteness!
I lift him up into my arms and walked over to Joy, I greet her and see the little girls are still sleeping in there car seats.
We start chatting going over everything, one more time because she's going to go back to full time working, and I'm not going to see her often.

"Bye Abby, I know you'll take care of the children. I know I can trust you. Keep Finn updated on them, and I know Finn seems a bit cold towards you, but he'll warm up to you soon, he's had it rough the last few months. Now I must leave now." She said, and kissed Ashton's head telling him to be good.
Then she left.

I walked to the kitchen and looked through the fridge, then the cabinets, and decided to make chicken soup, today was pretty cold, so why not?

I chopped up some vegetables and the chicken breast into chunks, I boiled some water and broth. After a few minutes everything was cooked. I took out some of the vegetables and mashed them up for the little girls, I'm not going to let them eat that baby junk food plus they don't even eat it.

"Ash! Do you want to come and help me?" I didn't know if he could hear me but it wouldn't hurt to ask, when he didn't come, I turned around and screamed "AHHHH! Oh my gosh! Why did you do that?!?" I yelled at Felix, Felix had a scary clown mask on, and when I turned around I had a mini heart attack! He was rolling on the floor dying of laughter. I started hitting him with the spatula. "You idiot! I had a heart attack!" I said while hitting his head, he was still laughing and trying to protect himself. Once I was satisfied, I stood up and finished preparing the food.

"Felix get up off the floor and set the table." I said, he was still on the floor laying there, on his phone. "Ugh, I'm to sore to get up, you really hurt me." "Well I guess you're to sore to get up for the food?..." when I said that he shot up and grabbed bowls and utensils. I couldn't help but smile.

I warmed up a loaf of sourdough bread, and set out all the bowls. "Ash! Come on, it's dinner!" He came running into the dining room, "I wanna eat!!" He said and pointed to his mouth.
"Are you hungry?" He nodded his head, I poked his nose and picked him up.
"Felix! Go and call Finn please! And you better not be picking any of the food!" I said while caring Ash to the bathroom to wash his hands.

"Ash go to the dinner table, don't eat anything, also make sure Uncle Felix doesn't eat anything. Ok?" I said in a hushed tone, he nodded excitedly and ran off. I went to go get the girls, I carried them towards the dining room, they gurgled all the way, "Did you have a good nap? Yes you did!" they bounced up and down excitedly, they munched on their hands. When I got to the dining room, everyone was there.

After dinner I put the children to sleep, and Felix offered to help me but I told him, I'd take care of everything.
He kept on insisting, but soon gave up.
"Thanks Abby, dinner was really good."
"No problem, I had a great time, and thanks for putting up with me..." I say, laughing a bit, once he left I walked back in towards the kitchen I had cleaning to do. But when I went into the kitchen I saw Finn washing the dishes, I walked over "I can finish it, thank you." I said reaching over, "It's fine." He says in a gruff voice, I grabbed one of the washcloths and wiped the counters. I put away the little bit of leftovers. When Finn walked away, I could help myself but thank him, "Thank you Finn. Night." I said after a while he didn't respond so I walked away.
