The Nanny Job Ch.10

Someone was poking my cheek, I tried to hit the finger away, but it kept on poking me, I grumbled "Stop.." and it stopped, I sighed contently and started drifting off again but then the poking started again! I growled and opened my eyes, Felix was there staring at me a bit scared, he better be he had waken the beast. "Don't be mad but I woke you up because, the guys and I can't put Ashton's diaper on." he says, I glare at him and hit has head hard, "OUCH!! W.T.H!!" he hisses, I smile "You idiot, why didn't any of you, tell me that you guys couldn't change him? I could have done it before I went to bed! What time is it?" I say, yawning he shrugs, my room is still dark so I probably haven't slept too long.

I walked to the living room and the boys were just sitting around and watching the TV, I was angry. I calmed myself, and cleared my throat catching their attention, "Did any of you try?- when they didn't answer I continued- have any of you ever changed a diaper?" I ask, when they were silent I shook my head and carried a sleeping Ashton to his room, when I changed him, I walked back to the living room, but they were gone.

I walked towards the kitchen and heard some quite whispering, "When I woke her up man, she was super pissed, she smacked my head!" Felix exclaimed, "Shut up, man do you want her to find us?" I think Trystan whispered, "She's going to find you idiots, the kitchen light is on, it's like a beacon, saying 'we-are-here'" Finn said in a 'duh' tone, I tried not to laugh at their stupidity, I walked into the kitchen, they all stopped talking, and avoided eye contact. "Am I interrupting something?" when no one answered I walked to one of the cabinets and got myself a cup of water.

I sat down at the kitchen table stared at each one, the only one who didn't seem to be effected by me was Finn, he had a small smile on his face. "Do any of you guys have any siblings?" I asked, they all shook their heads except Finn and Cole, "Of course." I muttered, "Ok, so do any of you guys have a girlfriend?" I ask, Trystan was the only person who muttered "I do." "Well do any of you plan on having a family?", they all nodded except Felix, I glared at Felix he shrugged and said, " I already have one,- I rose my eyebrow and gave his the do-you-think-I'm-stupid look- No, really I do, it's all of you, plus I don't want any brats running around..." he says in a proud tone. I could help but roll my eyes.

Before they left I told them that this talk wasn't over. When I was heading to bed, Finn said, "Abby I'm sorry about earlier, I know you had so much prepared and planned, maybe one of these days while she's staying here we can plan something?" he suggests, I smiled brightly "Really? Thank you so much, and it's fine you guys haven't spent much time with her anyways." I say, "Night Abby, and thank you. You've really been a lot of help lately." "It's my job, but you're welcome, and night." I say and head to bed.

The next morning I prepared a big breakfast, Finn had to run to work early and Joy joined us. 
We talked about her work and her many projects, when I brought out the girls, she was really happy to see them, but their bonding time was cut short because she had a 'very important call'. I cleaned up the children and got them ready for the park. "Miss Abby, is gwanma commin?" Ash asks, "You know what I'll ask her, hold on." I say and set the girls in the stroller, I started walking to her room and heard her on her phone call, I decided to go. I had left a note saying I was going with the park with the children.

Like last time, Ash ran straight to the sandbox, but Tesla and Ulloa were a lot more active, Ulloa was trying to get out of the stroller, I took her and Tesla out. They loved the slides, I don't know how many times I picked them up and put them at the top to slide them down, but my arms started to burn. Ashton came running towards us, with a little girl right behind him, when her got close enough he introduced her to me, "Miss Abby, this is Angew." "Noooo! It's Ange-l." she says correcting him and pronouncing the 'L'. They were so cute together, she had big hazel eyes, and dark wavy hair. Angel's mom came and I don't know how but we started talking about random thing while watching the children play. When I checked the time, it was already getting late. We said our goodbyes and left.

When I got home I had already planned what I was going to make. I put the children down for a nap and went to search for Joy, when I walked to her door it was really quite, I knocked on the door but no answer came, I knocked again but nothing happened, I opened the door just a crack and saw the room was empty. I looked around even in the closets there was nothing. I looked around the whole room. When it was 4:00pm I started to get worried, I had my phone in my hand and I had called Joy earlier but she wasn't answering. I tried to call Finn but it went straight to his voice mail.

 I checked on the girls and they were awake it sounded like they were having a conversation, I changed them. When I checked on Ash he was still sleeping, I gave the girls a snack and started on dinner. The girls were 'blahbing' when Ulloa started saying "Ma-ma-ba-ma." I spun around and walked over to her and picked her up and spun her. "Oh my gosh! You just said your first word!! Say it again! Say 'Ma ma'" I say, encouraging her. "Ma-ma" I squealed and kissed her cheek, I wish Finn was here to see her.

After dinner was made Ashton had set the table, I mashed up some sweet-potato the girls loved them, and got them some crackers, I had everything set up and was expecting Felix to come in smiling, but when he didn't I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. Ash ate his dinner happily and the girls made a big mess just as usual. 

When dinner was all done Ashton had begged me to read him a story while using his big eyes, which I couldn't resist, I cleaned the table and had put away all the food. Ashton and the girls were waiting in the living room with all his books. I walked into the living room, to see Ashton reading with the girls at his side, I watched and smiled, as he made his own story and the girls looked at him. I took a quick picture and walked into the room. When I sat down the girls crawled into my lap and pointed at the pictures.

It took a few stories until they all fell asleep, I sighed and set the girls onto the couch while Ash was sprawled out on the ground, I put the books away and went back to get them. When I walked back into the room Finn was in there, and he was carrying Ashton, when he picked Ulloa up it was so cute how she snuggled closer to him, I walked over and picked up Tesla I mouthed a 'hello' and we carried them to their rooms. Once they were set down, we walked to the kitchen.

"What do you want? I could warm up some food for you." I say, "Uhhh, I'm not that hungry, right now." Finn says, "Ok? Do you want some tea?" "Sure that'd be nice." I made some pumpkin spice tea, and got out two big mugs. I brought the mugs and I filled a plate with ginger cookies and set them onto the table. We sat in silence, I started thinking about the previous family's I've worked for, I've always worked with toddlers who already know how to speak but, I've never heard a child say their very first word, until now. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Finn had asked "Why are you smiling?" "Is it a crime to smile?" I ask smartly, "Nah, I was just wondering." he says, "Well today something amazing happened. Guess!" I say excitedly, "Well it must be something amazing by the look on you face.... Uh? I don't know." he said giving up on the very first guess, I rolled my eyes and laughed, "Ok Ulloa said her first word!" I said excitedly when I looked at him for his expression, he looked surprised, "What? Wait...... Really??" he asks in disbelief, "Do you think I would joke about this? And yes really!" I answer, "Man, they really do grow up fast." he says. "Uh also there's something else,- he looked at me questioningly- I don't know where your mother is....." I say biting my lip nervously. His expression of happy turned into mad? I couldn't tell, but he seemed a bit angry. "She's fine, she left early." he answers shortly, after we lapsed into silence I decided to leave.

I got up and washed got the cups to wash them but Finn stopped me and said he'd wash it. "Night Finn, sleep well...." I said and went to bed.
