The girls left as I threw back my fifth shot, sat it on the table and shook my head. “No.” running my hands threw my hair as I pushed back in the seat and began pacing back in forth across the room.

“Princ-.” Niall stops as I shake my head.

“This can’t be possible, I won’t accept that.” I say.

“Won’t accept which part? That your father was cheating on your mother, or that your mother wasn’t your mother, she was mine?” ask Ed as he takes 6th shot.

“All of it!” I yell, “I don’t believe any of it.” I say.

“Why not?” ask Ed.

“Because my father wasn’t a killer, he was a nice and honorable man.”

“I never said he wasn’t. All I said was…”

“That he was a candid killer. He married my mother 4 days after my ‘real’ mother left me, and decided that my mother, the one who raised me, my adoptive mother, would raise me as her own.”

Ed nods as Liam says, “I have a headache.”

“What I don’t understand is why you were not around? Why didn’t dad ever tell me about you, why weren’t you in the same house as me growing up?” I say.

“Mum thought it would be better if Uncle Simon raised me, since Dad made it clear he didn’t want you involved in this life. You were his perfect little girl, he didn’t want to taint that.”

“So all the years I grew up, you were with Uncle Simon this whole time and nether one of you thought I should know?”

“We didn’t think you could handle it.”

“Bullshit!”

“I thought you were supposed to be telling her about the chip, why are you bringing up past memories?” ask Zayn.

“Because it might refresh her memory, make her remember things that she tried to block out, or something that she buried deep into her brain as a child. I’m trying to scratch the wall that she has up so that it’ll fall and her memories will begin to flood back.” says Ed.

“No, I don’t think that’s wise.” Says Max.
“And why not?” ask Ed.

“Because you don’t know all the shit that has happened in the past, you know highlights, from what her father told you and from what you’ve seen at a distance. I’ve been there since the beginning of all of this and the shit she has gone through, the things she has buried so deep and packed cement over, for years on top, so it wouldn’t resurfaces, she’s is going to shut down again. And I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull her out.” explains Max.

“So that must make you Maxwell, her trusted protector.” Says Ed.

Max nods.

“Thank you for taking care of my sister, especially since I wasn’t able to be around.” says Ed.

“She’s my sister to, she may not be by blood, but she is, and I wouldn’t dare try to open up her past just to get a point across.”

“You said she needs to know about her father, the chip, well this is the only way I can do that.”

“Can’t you just, I don’t know, just tell her what the fuck is on the chip?” ask Louis.

Ed shakes his head, “No, if I just tell her she won’t understand.”

“Then what exactly are you trying to do? Because honestly the only thing it looks like you’re doing is upsetting her and making me want to kick your arse.” Says Niall in a harsh tone.
