Chapter 36
Laying on the ground off to the side of the lake, I pushed myself up as I frantically glanced around. “Niall!” I yelled cupping my hands around my mouth to put a bass in my voice. Looking around I didn’t see anything. “Niall!” I yelled again. Fearing for the worst I started to jump back in the lake when I heard footsteps approaching. Looking around I had the opinion of either grabbing a rock or a huge branch. So grabbing the branch I pulled it up towards me like a bat.
A figure formed into the darkness as it began heading my way. I stood there holding my breath when Niall walked up with his hands stuck in his pocket. His body was dripping water as he walked up. Lowering the branch I let out a breath as Niall looked at me. Niall looked at me and the branch as he smiled, “I think it’s a little too late to be playing baseball Princess.”
Dropping the branch I ran throwing my arms around Niall’s neck. Wrapping his arms around me in return I could practically feel the smile on Niall as he said, “Wey Hey there, I missed you too.”
Pulling away I wiped away the water that fell on my face from Niall’s hair as I said, “You were shot.” Niall nodded as he pulled up his shirt showing me the red slit that crossed the side of his stomach. “Oh my god!” I said covering up my mouth.
“It’s just an in and out wound, I’ve been through worst.”
Looking at him I shook my head, pushing the wet strains that fell into my face back I said, “You weren’t here. I thought...” a shudder ran through me as Niall pulled me towards him again, wrapping his arms around my neck as he says, “Shhh it’s alright. I went to scout the area; I’m fine, see I’m still breathing.”
Wrapping my arms around his waist, being care that I didn’t hit his side, I buried my head into his chest as I said, “Promise me that you’ll never let go.”
Kissing the top of my head Niall smiled and said, “That’s out of the question love.”

After 20 minutes me and Niall finally found our why back to the cabin. Walking up I was surprise to see that the party was still going on. “I guess they didn’t hear the gun shots.” I said as we stepped out of the woods.
“I guess not.” Said Niall.
Dipping in between the parked cars we stopped as the front door to the cabin swung open. Walking out the cabin Louis, Max, Liam, and Harry were all laughing as they wobbled walking down the steps. “Hey!” says Louis, “We’ve been looking for you.”
As the boys got closer Harry says, “Late night swimming in December? You guys must be dare devils or just plan crazy to...” Harry trailed off his sentences as he looks at Niall, “What the hell happened?”
Unlocking his car I wrapped my arms around myself as Niall says, “We were chased.”
Liam shook his head and said, “You were what?”
“Chased by who?” asked Max.
“I don’t know.” Says Niall as he pulls out a jacket from his back sit. Stepping in front of me he smiles as he wraps the jacket around me, “This won’t do much but it’s all I have. It’s enough to warm you up till I get you back to the flat.”
Looking up at him I smiled, “It’s just fine. Thank you.”
Niall rubs both sides of my shoulder as if he was trying to help warm me up, stopping he runs his hands up to my cheeks titling my head back as he presses his lips to my forehead. He stood there for a second until Liam yelled, “Nialler!” taking a breath Niall turned around.
