chapter fifteen

I walked into the door after school, and saw Nick walking impatiently around, waiting for me to come home. He saw me a d ran over to me.
"Quick!" He said, "Drop off your backpack and get into the car. Adam's in the hospital!"
I widened my eyes as I thought of the sight of Adam, laying in a stretcher, and being hauled into an ambulance. I dropped my backpack and sped straight to the hospital.
*time skip bc of long car rides*
As soon as Nick stopped the car, I ran out with my crutches, and went as fast as I could to the hospital doors. In the lobby I saw Alesa, waiting in a chair with Mason in her lap. She saw me as I crutched over to her and started to cry. Alesa almost lost it to. I wiped my sleeve on my nose and toughened up as Nick, and the other people from the offices, including Aphmau, walked up to us. Jess walked up to me and gave me a hug.
"Adam will be alright," she said, "He's a fighter."
She finally looked at me, and noticed my cast.
"Not the first time you've been here, has it?" she asked.
I shook my head and managed to make a fake laugh come out of me.
"I'm Maddy," I said to her.
Jess nodded. "I've herd a lot about you," she said smiling.
A nurse picked up the microphone.
"Adam Dahlberg," she said into it.
Everyone that just came in stood up again. A nurse walked over to the group of worried faces.
"Please, only family, he is in urgent care, but he will not corporate until he talks to his family."
Alesa gave mason to max and we followed the nurse to the hospital room.
Adam weakly lifted his head and gave a sad smile. Alesa covered her mouth from the sight of him. Adam was a very pail, everywhere on his showcase skin. I couldn't believe what was happening. His new adopted dad, in the hospital, as pail as fresh snow. A doctor walked into the room and hurried us to quickly talk to him.
"I'm so sorry," Adam said weakly, "I just don't know what happened."
Alesa soothed him down, and the doctor shooed us out of the room. After we got back to the lobby, I got restless.
"What happened?" I finally asked.
"I got a call from the offices, they said Adam collapsed mid video." Alesa said. "I got over there as soon as possible, and drove him here, and waited," she replied. "I still don't know what's wrong with him."
I saw this in my dreams last night. Adam shaking to the ground, every one panicking at once. It was all my fault, I didn't warn anyone. But now, it's too late, and now, all I can do is hope and pray he doesn't go up there, with my other birth parents. All I can do now is wait.
