The speaker blared in my ears, as it called for me to the office for early dismissal. I grabbed my backpack and headed on down to the office, where Alesa sat waiting. She saw me through the window and sat up. I walked to the car with her in silence.
"So," she finally said. "You ready to take off your cast?"
I nodded. It has been a boring nine months with the cast, and I was about to take it off myself. I hopped into the back of the car and plugged in my ear buds to my phone, as I played my Minecraft custom album I bought. I started to wonder if I should make a Minecraft music video myself. After all, I was almost at one million subscribers. All those roll plays finally paid off. I happily hummed the words of each song in my head, as we pulled up to the hospital doors again.
*time skip back to the house*
I opened the doors of the house by the lake. I saw Adam sitting on the couch, watching the news. He leaned forward, as one of the reporters interrupted the program for breaking news.
"This just in," the reporter said. "A school bus has just gotten into an accident on 271. The bus driver, was indeed drunk at the time of the accident. The bus driver passed out, mid drive. The bus slammed into multiple vehicles, before driving off road, and finally tipping over. No word on the survivors. We will keep it you on top of this story, night long. Pictures the bus flashed on screen, showing the bus, up in flames, completely battered and destroyed. I covered my mouth as the next picture of the bus flashed on screen, showing the bus number. 271, it read. The same number as my own. Adam widened his eyes.
"Oh my gosh," Adam said. "If Maddy went on there, my new little sister would have died,"
He trailed off, eyes wide with shock. I came over there, and sat next to him on the couch.
"Don't worry," I said to him. "I'm not going anywhere."
Then, we all heard the door bell ring. Alesa opened the door to find a man in a black tuxedo.
"Adam Dalhaburg," he said, "I'm here to take Madeline Dalhaburg."
I want to thank you all fr reading another part of my story. Wow, as I look back, I could have ended this chapter so many times. But I didn't! Lucky you right?
