Taylor woke to the sun's rays streaking into her bedroom through the blinds. She blinked a few times, slowly opening her eyes so they could adjust to the brightness of the room. She rolled over onto her back and stretched; feeling more refreshed than she has in ages.

She couldn't remember the last time she slept so well. She woke up feeling like a whole new person; like she could take on the world. She shot up out of bed and decided to make some breakfast for her and Selena.

Taylor felt completely energized as she moved around the house. She noticed the cats lounging in the living room. "Good morning my babies." Taylor cooed, walking over and petting her cats. Padding into the kitchen, Taylor headed to the fridge to see what she could make for breakfast.

She turned on the radio while she was cooking, having a little impromptu dance party. She started cutting up some fresh fruit, swaying her hips to the song playing through the radio. Something just felt different. She felt so much lighter, and happy, and carefree. It's like everything that had been weighing her down over the last few months was gone. She was just completely happy for no reason.

A familiar guitar riff comes out of the speakers and Taylor instantly smiled. Shut Up and Dance With Me started playing, bringing Taylor back to last night. She remembered how cute Karlie was when she got nervous about asking Taylor if she wanted to dance. She remembered Karlie grabbing her hand as she pulled her out onto the dancefloor, their hands connected the whole way.

It was the first time Taylor had wanted to dance in so long. Ever since her break up, she didn't feel like dancing. She didn't feel like going out or doing much of anything. The breakup had practically consumed her. She never thought she would be happy again.

A pair of sparkling green eyes; that's what Taylor remembers. Those eyes that made her want to dance again. Then there was that smile; that breathtaking smile that melted all of Taylor's walls that she had built up over the last few months.

She remembers dancing with Karlie; how she held her close and made the butterflies explode inside of her. She remembers getting lost in those green eyes, being captivated by that smile, and then there were those adorable freckles that dotted Karlie's perfect cheeks.

Everything about last night was perfect and there was only one explanation for it; Karlie. That's why Taylor was so happy. They didn't have much time to talk, but it felt like she had known Karlie her whole life. The model had a way of making her feel completely at ease. They laughed and bantered back and forth all night, never once finding it awkward or uncomfortable.

Mixing the pancake batter, a beat popped into Taylor's head. She started tapping the counter, matching the beat in her head. Words just started flowing out of her.

"I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now. I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now. I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now.  I just wanna know you, know you, know you."

"Is that about Karlie?" Selena's raspy voice startled Taylor who jumped in surprise. "AH! Sel, you scared me." Taylor panted, struggling to catch her breath after being caught off guard. "Sorry." Selena sheepishly replied. "That's really good. Is that about Karlie?" Selena asks again.

Keeping her attention on her pancakes, Taylor tried to think of an answer. "I uh, I-I don't know. Maybe." Taylor mumbled, inwardly smacking her head at not being able to come up with a good answer.

Selena smirked at the blonde, knowing it was. She hadn't heard Taylor sing or work on new music in months. "It's catchy. I really like it." Selena said softly, trying to get Taylor to relax a bit. "Um, thanks." Taylor mumbled nervously before clearing her throat. "Breakfast is almost ready." She said, trying to change the subject and compose herself.
