Crazy Scary Lives: Chapter 6

    When the bell for the end for fifth period to end rang, Margaret, Lucie, and Cassidy headed for the gym. Matt and his friend Levi headed to the gym, and Bethany, Jennifer, and Molly headed for the gym. No one knew everyone who would be in P.E. sixth period, but it was going to be an interesting one.

    The girls and guys split when they entered the gym, boys going to the right, girls going to the left for the locker rooms. Unlike other high schools across America, Cherry Hill had decent P.E. uniforms. In Margaret's freshman year, some seniors had petitioned to change the uniforms and won. So instead of the unflattering baggy outfits, they were kind of cute. The school colors were blue, white, and orange, so those were the colors for the clothes. The shorts were basketball-shorts material, but about a fourth the length of them. The were blue with Cherry Hill High School on the bottom right front in white, and then the box where you write your name. The shirts were plain orange scoop neck, but on the back it said CHERRY HILL and then a big 01. Pretty cute. That was the girls'; the guys' are pretty sexy too. 

    Margaret unlocked her locker the same time Lucie did beside her. The next ten minutes girls talked and got dressed and ran around the locker room acting a fool. Then the coach made them go out and run the five minutes around the gym. They did their warm-ups, then had them sit on the first row of bleachers; one side for girls, the other for guys.

   "All right," yelled one of the girl coaches, Coach Julie, her short cropped hair covered by her base-ball cap, "We're going to start the year off with what we ended with last year: Volleyball." Everyone groaned. "I don’t wanna hear that!" she smiled. Margaret rolled her eyes. "There's going to be four games inside, two outside; boys and girls mixed." She pointed out the courts and said there was to be six people on each side of the net, three girls and three boys. She was going to let the kids pick their teams. "Let's go!" she clapped.

    Margaret hopped off the bleachers and grabbed Lucie.

"Let's play inside. It's too hot out." Lucie said.

"Kay!" Margaret said. She ran over to a net and waited for other people join. Matt walked up, his arm muscles showing and smiled lazily at Margaret.

"I'm going to play against you," he told her.

"That’s fine… if you like loosing," she flashed a wicked grin.

"We'll be on your side Matt!" Cassidy's voice said. She walked over with Bethany and Jennifer.

"Molly, you can be our side," Margaret said, not even acknowledging Cassidy and Bethany. Bethany raised her eyebrows.

    Molly jogged over to Margaret and they waited for everyone else to join. Levi, Spencer, and John joined Margaret's side, and Patrick and Elijah joined Cassidy's. Margaret took place in the center front, and Cassidy took the same. Lucie was the server, and Jennifer was the server. Levi was to Margaret's left and Molly was to her right. Matt was to Cassidy's right and Bethany was to Cassidy's right.

   "Ready Cassidy?" Margaret said as she tightened her ponytail.

"Of course," she said.

"Go ahead Lucie!" Margaret called. Everyone got in there position, and faced Lucie. She did a beautiful serve and it went right over the net. Elijah bumped it up and Bethany tried to spike it, but Molly bumped it up. Margaret jumped up and tried to spike it over the net, but Matt hit it over the net and it hit the floor.

"Suck," Margaret said to him, rolling her eyes.

    Cassidy's side shifted positions, and Matt was now in front of Margaret.

"You ready for this?" he teased her.

"Duh," she snorted, rolling her eyes. Matt laughed and Bethany bit her tongue. They served and it went back and forth over the net a while and then it came over right to Margaret. She hit it hard and it smacked Bethany on the shoulder.
