Monday morning was September 1st, but the weather still thought it was July. Bethany rolled into school wearing white crop jeans, and a navy blue flow top. She stepped out of her car and saw almost every person outside the school talking and whispering animatedly. She saw Cassidy crossing the parking lot and called out, "Cass!"
Cassidy turned and smiled, walking over to Bethany. "Hey! So you ready for the first practice today?" Bethany asked her.
"Omg you know it!" Cassidy replied. They walked up to Molly, Lizzie, and Jennifer.
"Oh my god Bethany I'm so sorry!" Molly said, flinging her arms around Bethany.
"Way to be subtle," Jennifer snapped.
"Sorry, I just... It's so terrible!" Molly said to Bethany sympathetically.
"What are y'all talking about?" Bethany laughed nervously, looking from girl to girl.
"Well... about your sister," Lizzie said hesitantly.
"What?!" Bethany and Cassidy said at the same time.
"How did you find out about her?" Bethany demanded.
"Well... everyone knows. I-I don't know how everyone found they just did.... I'm sorry," Molly said.
Bethany wheeled to Cassidy. "You! You are the only person I told Cassidy! I trusted you! I thought you were my friend! You promised you wouldn't tell anyone and you told everyone! Fuck you, Cassidy! Go to hell!" Bethany screamed, and she ran into the school to the bathrooms.
"Cassidy? Is that true?" Lizzie asked.
"No! It's not true! She told me but I didn't tell anyone!" she paused. "I-I didn't tell everyone! I swear!" she defended herself.
"God that is just like you Cassidy. I can't believe you. That was a really awful thing to do." Molly shook her head, a look of disgust on her face.
"But I didn't tell everyone! I didn't!" Cassidy insisted.
"C'mon girls... Let's go check on Beth," Lizzie said, shaking her head once more Cassidy. They began to walk away.
"Jennifer, you believe me right?" she asked one of her oldest friends.
"Go to hell," Jennifer spat.
"I-" Cassidy began. She was left standing there, all alone, no one to support her. Hot tears stung her eyes, and she bit her lip, refusing to blink. She did not tell everyone. This was a huge mistake that they were pinning on her. And everyone had seen that scene, and that would spread too. Now Bethany would be the girl whose sister got murdered and Cassidy would be the girl who'd told everyone, even though she hadn't.
Now Cassidy was raging with a fury she'd never possessed before. She looked all around for the one person who could've done this. She spotted her and quickly walked to her. "I can't believe you!" she screeched at Margaret.
Margaret turned around, and it was obvious she'd just heard what she already knew. "I didn't tell anyone," she said in a quiet voice.
"Like hell you didn't!" Cassidy yelled.
"I promised you and I didn't tell anyone!" Margaret hissed.
"Then how did everyone find out two days after I told you?! Because I sure as hell didn't tell anyone and you knew that everyone would think I told! I honestly trusted you with this! I thought you could put your bitchiness aside for this one thing but I guess you couldn't! Now I don't have any friends and everyone hates me because of you! I hope your happy with yourself and I hope your glad you accomplished making my life hell! But just remember, what goes around comes around. And I'm pretty sure you'll get yours soon, bitch." she finished and she ran to her car, fighting tears the whole time.
