See the rays of the sun shine through my small window on my room. My eyes squint shut trying to ward off the filtered sunlight drifting in. I wipe the sandy beaches away from my eyes and stretched my arms upward. My phone vibrates again and I know who the hell it is without even looking at it. It’s Meagan my elder sister. She’s been digging me all night. I don’t have my mood to answer her crap or what the hell it is. I just ignore all phone calls and messages.  I grab my phone and scan my messages hoping to see a message, just one message from him. But I was always right. Nothing!  He’s been out for 3 days and I don’t know where he is. He just said to me that he’s going somewhere. But hell, 3 days is 3 days, without text and call. I’m waiting him all night in the past 2 days but he didn’t show up and I’m tired of asking Max and Saab and even Rocco I know he’s not going to say a thing if where the hell he is. Is it too hard too just text or call me? ‘Hey Lo I’m out for a couple of days don’t bother look for me!’ Just like that and that will be fine. Urgh.. Damn Elmo. I scan some messages and I open Meagan’s text.

Hey sis what’s your plan on mom’s birthday? –Meagan

Damn.. I forgot. I dialed her number.

“Ok.. Do you know what day it is? ” she’s freaking out. Sometimes Meagan is over reacting.

“Look Meg.. I’m sorry. I didn’t hear your calls.”

“hmmp..So what your plans? ”

“A simple party may do..Just relatives and closed friends. ” I suggests.

“Okay..  Did you buy something for her? ” right a present.

“None yet. Ok Meg I’m hanging up.” I feel my stomach is starting to roar.

“Okay..bye Sis..” then she end up. I sigh as I remember my mom’s birthday. That will be tomorrow. I hear my stomach again. Okay Okay.. I’m going. I headed downstairs towards the kitchen. I smell bacon, egg and coffee. Damn who the hell it is. I immediately went to our stock room and get a baseball bat. I don’t have a gun so I think this may do. I slowly approach the kitchen and held the bat firmly against my hands and ready to swing. I saw a figure behind the door’s fridge. I prepared the bat ready to swing and when the fridge closed I raised the bat….

“JESUS CHRIST…” the man shouted. Damn it! It’s Elmo.

“Are you trying to kill me Lo?” he glares at me.

“I’m sorry. Akala ko magnanakaw.”

“It’s okay.. Come I prepared your breakfast. ” I walk towards the table and sit beside him.

“Kailan ka umuwi?” He’s sipping his coffee.

“uhmmm Kanina lang.. natulog na ako sa condo.. Ang haba kasi ng byahe?” Right Lo you should be angry with him right now.

“Where have you been? You’re out for 3 days…”

“Nasa probinsya ako.. May pinakita lang sa akin na properties yung kliyente..” he’s not looking at me.

“Saan naman yon?” I asked him

“ah… La Union”

“That’s too far. So how was it?”

“Beautiful… ” he said dreamily.

“Really.. I want to see it. Vacation perhaps…” I suggest.

“ahmm..Masyadong malayo.. ” psh.. His phone rang and he read the text. A curve of smile showed in his face.

“Who was that?”

“Nothing.. Let’s eat.” We started to eat our breakfast. He keeps on smiling when he ever reads his messages. This Elmo in front of me is different from the one who I met his not fun of this stuff before. Something’s really wrong with him.
