Friday evening and it’s been a hell three days away from Elmo. I missed him so much that it hurts me every second away from him. I saw my image in front of the mirror as I fix my hair. I produce a deep sigh. It’s really weird but something’s pulling me not to come at the party. I can’t understand why I’m freaking nervous right now. Is something bad happening? Usually my instincts never fail me.  Pshh.. Stop it Julie.. I curse myself. I drive along the street hoping to find that prestige subdivision. Thank God for GPS. Over an hour of driving finally I saw the huge foyer. This must be the place.

Leaning back in my car seat, I looked out the window, absently admiring the serene vista of the subdivision. Wow. This was huge.  I stepped from the car, gaping at the large mansion that set beyond the sidewalk towering over me as if tempting to intimidate me. The cream coating of the paint shined as the lights around the mansion beat down on it causing my eyes to squint. Uniquely twisted fencing kept the house enclosed and neatly trimmed hedges surrounded the house. As I stepped onto the sidewalk, I noticed a marble fountain sitting towards the right side of the lawn. An angel holding a flower was perched on top, looking up towards the sky. Water spurted from its other hand, which lay gently out in front of it, as if waiting for someone to take it in return. The water fell gently towards the crystal blue pool beneath it, causing ripples to form and wave out until they were no more.

Upon entering the sprawling mansion, I am warmly greeted by the people around the place. I glance around the corners... Oh my God. The roof was peaked, slanting down at an angle. The windows had royal blue curtains hanging on the other side of them, drawn so that the light could stream through. If words could describe perfection, this would be it. I spot Lauren and her in laws talking seriously. They were both beautiful in a finely fashioned way.

“Julie” I glance around and I saw Sarah rushed to my side drew me toward her, then air-kissed both of my cheeks.

“I’m so pleased to finally see you here.. What a gorgeous girl you are! And your dress. I love it.”

“Thank you.” Feeling strangely unsettled, I was grateful when her attention moved to other guest.  She gestured at a waiting servant.

“Please head her to the garden...” she commanded

“make yourself at home.” She winked and then hopped up and away. I just nodded my head and manage a quite smile.

Once I’d moved outside, I found a large canvas erected in therear garden. Although the night was beautifulenough to stay out, I found a seat at acircular table covered in white damask instead.I sipped champagne and chatted with everyonewho stopped by to strike up a conversation. Therewere a lot of businessmen and elites at the party and I watched them covertly, abit starstruck. For all the elegance of thesurroundings and the endless number of servants, the overall vibe was casual and relaxed.

I was starting to enjoy myself when someone I’d fond to see again stepped out of the house. Lauren, looking phenomenal in rose-hued chiffon dress that floated around her knees. She smile and seems pleased to see me. She walks towards settling her hands on my shoulder.

“There you go.. my special guest..” I chuckle. She took the chair next to mine leaning toward me.

“Are you having fun? You’re not mingling much.”

“I’m having a great time.” I give my megawatt smile.

“Thank you for having me here..”

“No biggie.. we are like sisters from other mister.” She jests.

“I guess..” we laughed.

“Come.. doon ka sa table namin.. magisa ka lang dito..”

“I’m okay here.. dito na lang ako..” but she refused and held my hand trying to pull me to stand.
