CHAPTER 10
“Woah… Ang ganda naman dito.” How many times I hear that phrase? I feel grateful na nagustuhan niya dito. I love seeing her feel giddy while roaming her eyes around the place. She looks like a child na 1st time makakita ng beach. She’s smiling all the time. Nakakagaan lang ng pakiramdam while looking at her. She really views the world different.
“How did you find this place?” tanong niya sa akin while watching the sunset. Nakaupo kami ngayon sa isang bench. Her head rests on my shoulder. God I love this moment.
“Actually rest house to nang kaibigan ko.” I felt his head nod on my shoulder. Habang ako pasimpleng inaamoy ang buhok niya. I slowly drop my eyes to her face. Her eyes is closed and her body is so relaxed. I might say she really enjoyed staying here or having me by her side…pshhh.. ASA Elmo. Dumako ang tingin ko sa kanyang labi. God…so tempting. I want to feel those lips again. These past days alam kong iniiwasan nya ulit ako after our so called ‘Accidentally Kiss’. I was freaking out when she was not answering my calls and text. It’s killing me and I don’t want to put our relationship in jeopardize again. I can’t afford to lose her.
“Yan ka na naman sa pagtiitg mo” haha napansin nya pala.
“Psshh, ang ganda mo kasi ngayon. I can’t help staring at you.” Her forehead creased. Did I say something wrong?
“NGAYON? So ngayon lang ako maganda?” Hahahaha ayun naman pala ang kinainis niya.
“Yeah” sagot ko. Maasar nga to.
“Wow ang yabang ha..” Akma siyang tatayo ng pinigilan ko siya. Hinila ko siya paupo sa lap ko. Then I hug her from behind. My head is resting on her back while my hands hugging her tiny waist.
“Joke lang naman yun….. The truth is.. your always beautiful.” Ganun parin ang pwesto namin. Her body stiff. Di parin siya nagsasalita, so I take advantage. Mas hinigpitan ko ang pagkakayakap sa kanya. Inhaling her strawberry scent.. I feel like in heaven. Now, I know my hormones are getting wilder. Crap! Her hair is in a bun so her neck is exposed. I want to put my lips on that lovely neck while inhaling her heavenly scent. Elmo… PUT ON YOUR GRIP. The atmosphere is getting hotter and I feel my body is aware of this intimacy. Shit… Then her phone rang. Don lang kami naghiwalay. Nagmadali syang tumayo and answer the call. Lumayo siya ng kaunti sa akin. I observe her every move. Nung nagtama ang mga mata namin she avoid it abruptly. Shit Elmo wrong move. I feel sorry for myself cos I lost my control. Damn hormones. Buti na lang nagring yung phone niya. Baka kung anu na nagawa ko sa kanya. It’s already 6:30 pm. Time is running so fast. I see her approaching me. Her face is so red at halatang ninenerbyos siya.
“Ah Moe? Di paba tayo uuwi?” tanong niya sa akin.
“Let’s have dinner before we go.” She nodded.
I arrange a dinner for us near the ocean. When she saw the place, she smiles for a while then her face went into frown. Ayaw niya ba tong ginawa ko? But instead of asking her hinayaan ko na lang. Nagsimula na kaming kumain and I was staring at her the whole time. She keeps on avoiding my gaze. Only waves of ocean can be heard around us. Silence ruled.. Shit.. Ano bang sasabihin ko sa kanya.
“Don’t you like it?” I ask her nervously.
“No.. No.. I like it Moe” I feel relief.
“It’s just that… ngayon lang kasi may gumawa sakin ng ganto.” Dugtong niya. Her gaze lowered.
“Have you been in a data before?” I ask try to prolong our chat.
“Wala pa.” she whispers. Unbelievable.. at that age, and to think she grow up in states.
“hehe you’re not convinced right?” she chuckle.
“Ha.. hindi naman sa ganun.. nagulat lang ako sa sinabi mo” actually I doubted her. Sa ganyan ba namang kaganda wala bang papatol sa kanya?
“Ok lang.. sanay nako na hindi sila naniniwala. It doesn’t matter.”
“NO.. I believe you.” I lied.
“Tsk. To tell you honestly.. I haven’t been in a relationship...” She started it. I just want to listen to her. Ngayon lang siya magkwento about herself.
“May nanliligaw naman noon.. konti hehe. But I put them all down. Before kasi school is my priority… After school nasa bahay lang ako… I barely hanged-out with my peers before.” Nakatingin siya sa malayo. I saw in her face how vulnerable she is. And I believe every single word came into her mouth.
“They say boring daw ako.. But I don’t give a damn thing to what they say… hehe Nakakatawa nga after I finished my degree I told to myself na okay na kong pumasok sa isang relasyon.. pero until now wala.. haha walang nagkakamali.” She stared at me then smile.
“Maybe I’m not that good enough..” She added bitterly. She is so fragile. I cut her out.
“Don’t say that.. You’re the most amazing woman I ever met.” I held her hand and it’s now shaking. She looks me straight in the eye. She’s so beautiful. How come she doubted herself?
“If you’re saying that to pacify me. There’s no need.”
“No Juls.. Listen to me” I held her face.
“Look at yourself you’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re attractive woman, you have a sense of humor.. Don’t degrade yourself.. You are perfect.. Keep that in mind.” A tear escape to her eye. I brushed it using my thumb. I want to ease all her frustrations.
“Julie Anne.. You can have me.” Nagulat siya sa sinabi ko. Iniwas niya ang tingin niya sakin and remove my hands on her face.
“I don’t want your sympathy Moe.” Yun ba ang akala niya. Crap.
“Sympathy? Hell no.. Julie since that day when we met at the airport.. I can’t get you out of mind…. Alam mo ba bumalik ako sa hotel kung san kita hinatid and damn wala ka na roon… Every single day, I stared at my phone hoping you call. Pero ano wala.. I even hire an investigator para mahanap lang kita pero mailap parin.. Even sa social networking site I always searched for your name.. You always haunts on my dreams. Pag pumimikit ako ikaw ang nakikita ko ” Hindi siya makapaniwala sa sinasabi ko. Shit wala man lang ba siyang sasabihin.
“Kaya nung nakita kita sa palabas ng bar. I took all my courage para magpakita sayo. Hindi ko nga alam noon kung naalala mo pa ako.” I chuckle as I remember what happened that day.
“Moe.Ah...”
“Julie I like you” Di ko na sya pinatapos. Mas lumaki ang mga mata nya sa sinabi ko.
“No.. Hindi lang like.. I think… ” I held her hand once again and raised her head to meet my gaze.
“I think I’m falling in love with you…”
