Chapter Ocho
Screams, screams everywhere. Surrounding her neck like a noose ready to be yanked up high and tight. Her name fiercely danced among the wails of terror piercing her ears. They jolted her wide wake to a place of darkness but the screeching hadn't ceased. In fact it was louder. Was she still in the nightmare?
"Rian!" She recognized that voice. She wasn't dreaming. "Rian, where are you!"
At that she leapt out of bed, tripping and falling over the edge, but getting back on her bare feet in a flash. She followed the shrieks blindly through the blackness. What was happening? What was wrong? She didn't know. It surely felt like a horrible dream.
"Channa, are you okay?" Rian shouted, breaking into the living room. The TV emitted a cringe inducing staticky blare. But the screams weren't coming from the living room. Rian bolted forward, switching on the kitchen lights and skid to a halt immediately when she saw the shards of white and dark blue ceramic on the pale tile. Cain was lying on his stomach, his wrists kissing the floor.
"God damn it Channa," Rian said, recovering from her mini heart attack. She shook her head at her flustered best friend, who stood a few feet above Cain, still in one of her black business suits, huffing and puffing. "You assaulted my guest."
Channa quickly peered over at Rian, a wild look in her eyes. "You know this bitch?"

"You didn't have to break a vase over his back."
"Why didn't you tell me you were having company?"
"It was late, and unexpected." Rian lowered her head. She didn't want to be yelled at, especially so early. "Besides I thought you were staying at Elizabeth's."
"And? You couldn't call me? Is it that hard to leave a voicemail or even a text? A simple 'Hey Girl, I'm bringing a guy home for the first time in three years so you know don't freak out and break my grandma's vase over his spine if you catch him lurking in the fucking kitchen like a creeper!' That shit would've been helpful!" Channa was very upset. So much so that she wouldn't uncross her arms or stop giving Rian scorching glances. Channa wasn't wrong though. Rian should have at least left a message.
"I'm sorry alright? I wasn't thinking clearly." Channa's rage lessened.
"Just remember that I live here too, okay?" She sat at the breakfast bar beside Rian and nudged her with her elbow. Things were a tad calmer. Rian visibly relaxed. "Look boo, I want you to live here. I like that you live here. But just give me a heads up next time if you're going to be bringing people I don't know home so I can lock up my shit, alright?"
Rian nodded in agreement. "This isn't going to be a normal practice, ya know? Picking up hitchhikers and shiz... But you're right. I'm sorry."
"It's fine nips, just think next time."
Channa then began to grin one of her famous grins of forgiveness. "So who is this bitch anyway?"~•~•~
"She did what?" Sophie shouted over the extremely loud music bumping all throughout the warehouse. It was Halloween night and the gang was finally at the Spooky Bash across town. Sophie and Channa had ended up going as the monster vaginas and Rian as the plain ole dick.
"Mhm," Rian hummed, nodding her head.
Sophie munched casually on a bat shaped sugar cookie. "Well I'm sure she didn't mean it."
"Sophie," Rian gave her bestie her usual are-you-shitting-me look, which sent Soph into a quiet fit of laughter. She didn't know what was funnier: The fact that her bestie was actually wearing a male member as a costume or the fact that her own face represented a giant clitoris. She snatched her drink off a coaster from the wide party table and sipped it slowly as Rian continued, "She was out for blood girl, I'm telling you."
"Oh shit, well what happened to Cain?" Sophie asked, her hips swaying lightly to the beat. It wouldn't be long until she completely succumbed to the music and the rainbow colored flashing lights. Rian, of all people, of course knew that.
"He is still currently asleep in my bed with a bad back."
"Wow! That's nice of you to take care of him like that. Who is this guy anyway Ri?"
"An old friend."
"Oooh. And Channa let him stay there after all that?"
"It's only for a few days. Wasn't easy though. It took some persuading-a shit ton of begging actually-but it was worth it."
"Hey you guys!" Elizabeth's excited voice chimed, breaking through the booming bass of the speakers. She had made her exit out of the sweaty dancing crowd with Channa in tow, and skipped over to the pair of genitals by the snacks.
"Hey love birds!" Sophie cooed, fluttering her hands like two doves. "You guys look so cute!"
"Don't say that," Channa said flatly from behind Lizzie's frilly red dress, to which Liz stepped aside so we could easily see Channa in all her vaginal glory. A seemingly permanent scowl stayed on her face. She was clearly not amused. But Rian couldn't stop smirking.
"I see you've brought your large grumpy pussy little Red!"
"Fuck off Rian." Channa frowned, flipping her middle finger up.
"Hey hey," Elizabeth tsked, planting a red lipstick stain on Channa's cheek. "Shush! I love your costume."
"See?" Rian snapped. "She loves it, so cheer up already!"
Channa narrowed her eyes at Rian, then Elizabeth who only smiled back in that genuine, cozy kind of way that only she could.
Channa stared impassively forward for a good minute, until she finally caved.
"Ugh," She groaned, her defeated smile sending itself Elizabeth's way, "fine babe. I look fantastic."
"You do," Lizzie grinned, grabbing Channa by both cheeks and pressed her lips to hers. Sophie giggled and looked over at Rian, who just beamed in approval at the sight before her. She was so very happy that Channa had found her special someone in the world. Hell, she was proud of both of her best friends. They had accomplished more than was believed of them. Most importantly, she was glad they were still close after all this time.
"Come on," Rian said to Sophie, tugging her arm gently. Sophie nodded, getting the hint as they slipped onto the dance floor, leaving Lizzie and Channa to their saliva swapping.
Rian looked in her friend Dominick's direction. He was at the head of the crowd, dressed as a giant carrot, jamming out to the music he was feeding through the huge speakers around the warehouse. He waved at her when he saw her and Rian waved back.
Sophie suddenly whooped as AJR's I'm Ready started playing. "Oh my God, I haven't heard this song in forever!" She screamed in excitement, wiggling her arms out in front of her. She began to lose herself to the catchy beat of the song and immediately clapped along. But Rian wasn't paying attention too much. She was caught in one of her usual bizarre moments where she looked up at the sky, or in this case the ceiling, and smiled at whoever or whatever might be watching.
"Hey nips," Channa said, surprising Rian back to awareness. "You good?"
"I'm so good dawg." Rian grinned. Elizabeth had jumped in with Sophie by this time and Rian and Channa could only shake their heads and laugh. Sophie and Lizzie were such goofs, shaking their butts without a care. Soon they beckoned for Rian and Channa to join.
"Come on you poops!" Sophie called. She grabbed Rian's arm this time, as did Elizabeth with Channa, and they dragged them deeper into the sweaty mesh of costumed persons.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Sorry it took so long for me to get this out, and I'm sorry it sucks lol and I know Halloween was days ago, but here you go anyway.
