The next day I woke up in my warm bed earlier than usual. Rays of sunlight came through the small crack in my curtains and straight into my eyes. I covered them with my hand as I sat up, groaning.
I woke up before my aunt, so I quietly made myself some breakfast. I peeled a banana and poured a small glass of orange juice and took it upstairs to my room. I saw that Benny's window was open, so I checked to see if he was there.
I didn't know how to get his attention, so I took a small part of my banana and threw it at his window. It made a loud thunk, causing him to look out of his window. I laughed a bit as he lifted the heavy window up and open. He started laughing, and said, "really? A banana? There's a thing called knocking on doors, you know."
I shrugged a little and sighed. "Wanna go down to the sandlot before the guys get there?" I asked. He nodded, leaning against his windowsill. "Yeah, I'll be down there in a second," he said as I smiled in response. I closed my curtains and pulled on some jeans and a plain white baseball shirt with red sleeves. I laced up my dirty white converse and ran a brush through my hair, then quietly ran down the stairs and out the door.
I saw Benny walk out of his house and down the driveway. He smiled as I caught up to him, taking in a breath of the morning air. "Hey," he said as we started walking.
"Hi," I laughed a little, kicking a rock that was in front of me.
We walked in silence the rest of the way to the sandlot, taking in the quietness of the morning.
I haven't updated this in like 20 years, and I'm really sorry. I've been having writers block, and personal issues to deal with. Sorry my comeback with this story is so short, but as I previously mentioned, my writers block with this is getting insane. I'm open for suggestions, but no one ever suggests anything lmao.
Peace.
Also, please note that this is unedited.
